The "Getting Lost" series is about a Lost newbie's attempts to watch all five seasons of the show for the first time, just as the sixth (and final) one rolls along.
What I Watched on Week 9: Season 3, Episodes 11-19 ("Enter 77", "Par Avion", "The Man from Tallahassee", "Expose", "Left Behind", "One of Us", "Catch-22", "D.O.C.", "The Brig")
Forgive me if I sound confused and incoherent in the next few paragraphs. After breaking my vow of slowing down on my Lost intake--i added nine more episodes and I just realized I'll hit the third season finale by the weekend--it occurred to me that the show is much more hard to follow than I thought, because there are just so many threads to follow. I thought I could keep track with it. All of a sudden, I couldn't. »

The first full trailer for Toy Story 3 is, at long last, online. Audiences who flocked to the theatres to watch the first two films in 3D had the privilege of seeing it on the big screen but now everyone can see it on the World Wide Web. Bringing up the slogan "No Toy Gets Left Behind", the trailer teases a bit on the brutality the toy crew experience when they find themselves at a local day-care center. »

Following a leak over the weekend, the first full trailer of "Toy Story 3" has finally been officially released by Disney/Pixar. Bringing up the slogan "No Toy Gets Left Behind", the trailer teases a bit on the brutality the toy crew experience when they find themselves at a local day-care center.
The official trailer aside, a new Mr. Potato Head character poster has been outed by MSN, and director Lee Unkrich has taken it to his Twitter account to share several info on the third "Toy Story" movie. The filmmaker unraveled in a video announcement some of the new members of the voice cast ensemble.
Through the video, the film editor for the first two "Toy Story" movies said that Kristen Schaal joins the cast for a character whose name is undisclosed, Blake Clark will fill in the voice of Slinky Dog, given that the original voice actor Jim Varney has passed away, »

He's used to getting love letters and high-fives as a former teen heartthrob, but onetime Growing Pains actor Kirk Cameron isn't letting the mockery and criticism dissuade him from promoting his controversial project to dispute evolutionary theory. "Atheism has been on the rise for years now, and the Bible of the atheists is The Origin of Species," Cameron tells People. "We have a situation in our country where young people are entering college with a belief in God and exiting with that faith being stripped and shredded. What we want to do is have student make an informed, educated decision before they chuck their faith. »

Spoilers ahead for the teaser trailer of Toy Story 3.
A wonderful attendee of the D23 Expo was able to quote Pixar guru John Lasseter on the state of Toy Story 3 in relation to the other entries in the franchise. Lasseter revealed that while there was always interest in making another sequel, the quality to be matched was a daunting task:
“When we were getting started on this project, a bunch of us – Pete Docter, Andrew Stanton, Jeff Pigeon, Lee Unkrich, myself and some others – went on retreat in Northern California. We went back to the cabin where we had broken the story for the original Toy Story. That place has good mojo.
But before we got started, we sat down and watched Toy Story 1 & 2. And then we got depressed, because we realized that those two are really good movies. And we then wondered how we were ever going to top them. »

"Toy Story 3" is still far from its theatrical release date, but details on what adventure Woody, Buzz and their toy gang will be facing this time have slowly but surely being unraveled. Jim Hill of Jim Hill Media has recently brought up the news that an official trailer for the Disney/Pixar's animated film will be providing more hints on the plot.
[Spoiler Alert!] According to Jim, the trailer will present "Woody and the gang at Sunnyside Daycare" where they live among toddlers after accidentally thrown out to the garbage. Snippets in the trailer then show that the toy crew "get absolutely brutalized by these 3-year-olds" and decide they have enough of it.
In their first attempt of escaping the daycare, however, Buzz is severely damaged. The situation forces his toy friend to hit his reset button, which puts Buzz into Spanish-speaking mode and turns him into a hot-blooded, flamenco-dancing romantic »

2009's Ten Best and Five Worst Films (So Far) We're technically over halfway through 2009, but a disproportionately large number of great films tend to spring up in the latter months of the year, so let's call it halfway for the sake of our collective sanity. It hasn't been a terrific year for filmgoing so far this year, but there have been enough films worth celebrating to justify a roundup. Keep in mind that these rankings are tentative - they're largely based on single viewings, and my estimates of their relative worth may vary over the course of the year. My principal question when ranking new film is: "which films am I most eager to watch again?" With that in mind, my top ten films of the year so far, in descending order: 10. Star Trek (Podcast review) [1] listen now [2] If someone had told you back in January that the summer of »

Michael Jackson allegedly left behind a whole catalogue of songs he never released. Former CEO of Sony Music Tommy Motola tells Time magazine, "The world will be listening to Michael Jackson for decades to come." Mottola says there are dozens of albums that have never been heard. He says, "Let's say 12 or 13 songs end up on the album; Michael could have possibly recorded 15, 20 or 30 songs. "This would probably go for every album he recorded and probably pre-dating [Sony] to his Motown days." And if you think you've heard the best of Michael,... »

Only a Revelations quote away from a genuine Christian apocalypse movie in Left Behind mold, Knowing (Summit) evolves from a reasonably intriguing Twilight Zone scenario about a time capsule containing visions of future disasters to the sort of full-on end-of-the-world scenario cooked up by a street-corner derelict. All of which leaves Nicolas Cage to crank up the bug-eyed theatrics once again as the Chicken Little who tries to convince humanity that the sky is falling—or, this case, consuming the Earth in a massive fireball. The last 10 minutes aren’t easily forgotten… Critics blasted the arthouse-meets-Heroes science-fiction actioner ... »

Top Ten Apocalyptic/Post-Apocalyptic Films It seems Hollywood's infatuation with the end of the world has found its place in 2009 with releases such as Knowing this past March and upcoming releases such as 9, The Road and 2012 later this year. I never saw The Horsemen, but I know it had an apocalyptic theme, and films such as Terminator Salvation and even Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen threaten the continued existence of the human race. So, with such a situation at hand what better time than now to take a look at what I believe to be the best apocalyptic films of all-time... or at the very least of those I have seen... We all have a morbid curiosity when it comes to the world's end. Will it go with a whimper or a bang? Will the apocalypse be man-made, ape-made, E.T.-made, nature-made, or God-made? Will I be holding Nicolas Cage »

It was no secret that Michael Jackson was working on new music before his passing, with the help of top music producers Will.I.Am, Ne-Yo, Akon, and others. However, former Sony Music CEO Tommy Mottola said the amount of unreleased music is "endless."
Mottola said that albums of new Jackson material as well as repackaged releases "could go on for years and years -- even more than Elvis," reported the New York Post.
Black Eyed Peas frontman and producer Will.I.Am says the new material is "out of this world." "It's something Michael has never done before -- a dance music album. I was very proud of it. But he was protective and kept it under lock and key. After he made it I had to hand back every demo. He was a perfectionist and didn't want anyone to hear it until it was ready."

What do Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas do when they find a little downtime? The simple answer: “Play golf and hang out and chill and stuff.” But then they let MTV News in on what really happens when the Jonas Brothers aren’t working.
They ride dirt bikes up to Canada. Then they take a submarine to Antarctica. And then they fly back in time for a show. I got tired just thinking about it.
And despite Kevin’s inability to remember going on any of these trips, troublemaker Joe and peacekeeper Nick assured us that “there are no forgotten Jonas Brothers. No man left behind. That’s our motto.”
“No brother left behind … or somebody’s in trouble,” Joe added.
We don’t believe them, but maybe we will if we actually go with them on one of these extraordinary-sounding excursions. And the fact that the guys have invited »

Tupac Shakur’s physical being may have left the earth well over a decade ago but his spirit remains stronger than ever. Today would have been the iconic rapper’s 38th birthday, and if you didn’t know any better you’d probably let the media convince you that ‘Pac was spotted out somewhere celebrating it. Seriously.
It was only weeks ago that a recent photo of a man looking like ‘Pac surfaced on the Web, once again igniting the tired rumors that Mr. Shakur is not deceased and freely walking the streets of L.A. Stop it. Afeni wants her son to rest in peace.
The one thing that will never die is ‘Pac’s soul. I think my position on Tupac sometimes gets misconstrued. In the beginning I was one of his biggest ‘Pac fans, pre-”Juice.” But after a few silver screen appearances (plus »

For Hunter's reviews/wrap-ups of the previous two episodes of Breaking Bad leading up to last Sunday's divisive finale, click here for ep 11 ("Mandala") and here for ep 12 ("Phoenix"). Now that most everyone has caught up with the season finale of Breaking Bad, entitled "Abq," on their TiVo and what not, let's take a look at what went...down. Actually, for the sake of disclosure, the mini-delay of this write-up is also due to the episode being a surprising disappointment in my eyes. For a series that is deftly founded on madcap realism, the natural awes of science, and the odds of consequence, I found "Abq" to stretch way beyond the show's established believability (and viewers' trust therein). Spoiler Alert from this point forward: While the ending to "Abq" finally revealed the cause of the body bags and the doom-laden destruction at the Whites' residence that we've gleaned all season long, »

Sometimes teaser movie posters are interesting, like the Taking Woodstock and Julie & Julia posters that have debuted in the last 24 hours. And sometimes they're like the 2012 poster, which is precisely what you would expect from a Roland Emmerich teaser poster. Don't you remember the teaser poster for Independence Day, which I continue to swear was hanging in the lobby of my local theater for two years before the movie actually came out? The same stark letters, black background, threat of doom-- all the atmosphere you want to evoke about the movie, but nothing all that original. At least we got something by way of a tagline: "Who will be left behind?" Think they're intentionally trying to evoke the Left Behind apocalypse theory? I think yes. Anyway, check out the poster below, and find a larger version at MoviePoster.com. Sorry if I've dampened all your potential excitement about this, ... »

Here’s a new poster for Roland Emmerich’s latest disaster movie, “2012″. I believe this is what’s called a teaser poster, as it doesn’t do a whole lot but teases the title of the movie. It doesn’t even list any of the stars, or the director, but does pimp the official website and the film’s tagline: “Who Will be Left Behind”. Poster after the jump. The plot of the film, such as it is: An academic researcher leads a group of people in a fight to counteract the apocalyptic events that were predicted by the ancient Mayan calendar. The film will star John Cusack, Thandie Newton, Amanda Peet, Woody Harrelson, Danny Glover, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Oliver Platt, Patrick Bauchau, George Segal, and Morgan Lily. Glover, by the way, will be playing the President. I just hope he’s not too old for this sh-t. Via Impawards. »
