At the 1999 Macworld conference, shortly after the premiere of this TV movie, the audience was stunned to learn that the introductory comments were made not by Steve Jobs, but by Noah Wyle, reprising his role in this movie. The real Jobs emerged and traded jokes with Wyle.

Goofs:

Factual errors: In the opening scene where they are filming the 1984 Macintosh commercial, Ridley Scott calls the actress who throws the hammer Michelle. Her real life name is Anya Major.

Watch out for commonly accepted mistakes

"Today, Apple is owned in a part by Microsoft, and you could say that Gates is the "winner" in the computer industry"

I just wanted to correct this statement. Microsoft doesn't own Apple, nor in its entirety or even the smallest fraction of it... The extra-judicial agreement that ended the Apple v. Microsoft lawsuit stated that MS had to buy 150 million dollars in Apple stock, as a way of injecting fresh dough in the company... Microsoft SOLD those shares less than 2 months after, as it was not allowed by that settlement to permanently own any shares of Apple Computer.
