I was proved wrong by this gem.

Somehow, I never considered such a spot on satire of the film industry possible before this great age of irony (starting about 1969 or so?) Well, I was as dead wrong as this gem of a film shows. Lord, it's a riot. Right at the beginning, they skewer the big Hollywood producer at his telephone strewn great slab of a desk. Then, the female protagonist is shown living in a hut in the forest. However, the interior, while furnished in the best peasant tradition, is HUGE. Her first line was a teary, "Mommy, why do all the children run after me yelling, 'Out of wedlock!'? " The plot twists are truly silly and the characters are wont to burst into song with strangers accompanying them. I only wish the fools who did all those silly musicals later had seen this one first. It really is worth the effort for someone to find this film.
