Bond 23 To Start Filming In Late 2010

26 October 2009 1:41 PM, PDT | Filmofilia | See recent Filmofilia news »

According to MI6, Bond 23 will begin production in late 2010. Daniel Craig told fans outside the Broadway theatre for his play “A Steady Rain” that production will kick off at the “end of next year.

It will be the third 007 installment starring Craig. His previous two films, “Casino Royale” and “Quantum of Solace,” earned $594 million and $586 million, respectively, at the worldwide box office.

The next installment in the James Bond franchise is being written by returning scribes Neal Purvis and Robert Wade (The World Is Not Enough, Die Another Day, Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace), and “The Queen”, “The Last King of Scotland”, and “Frost/Nixon” scribe Peter Morgan. David Arnold will compose the score for his sixth 007 movie. Producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have yet to confirm a director.

That news follows the general schedule of Bond movie production which commences 10-12 months before release, indicating a November 2011 opening. »

Jennifer Aniston, Lady GaGa and Bond Girls

26 October 2009 11:27 AM, PDT | ReelLoop.com | See recent Reel Loop news »

We all love Bond girls and we all love Jennifer Aniston. Sounds like a match made in heaven until one realizes that, whoa, Bond girls should be exotic, dangerous and reeking of sex. I don’t know about you, but Jennifer Aniston is a lot of things but smelling like sex is not one of them. She’s more of the “hot neighbor girl” kind of like Kaley Cuoco on CBS’ The Big Bang Theory.

Bond girl rumors spread almost as fast as villains for a third Batman and we have heard the same names over and over just like you. Angelina Jolie, Slumdog Millionaire’s Freida Pinto and even Salma Hayek, but the Jennifer Aniston rumor is a persistent one.

In March the former Friends star was asked by Elle magazine if she would have any interest in becoming a Bond girl in the next installment. The answer may »

Exclusive: Robert Carlyle on 'Stargate Universe'

29 September 2009 9:40 AM, PDT | CinemaSpy | See recent CinemaSpy news »

Scottish-born character actor Robert Carlyle is one of the most versatile thespians you're likely to meet. He's played a cold-blooded killer on the classic UK crime drama Cracker (1990), a police officer in the BBC drama Hamish Macbeth (1995-97), a psychopath in Trainspotting (1996), a strip-teasing steelworker in The Full Monty (1997), an international terrorist who feels no pain in the Bond film The World is Not Enough (1999), and an intelligence operative in 24: Redemption (2008).

And those are just a few highlights.

Inspired to take up acting after reading Arthur Miller's "The Crucible", the graduate of Glasgow Arts Centre probably never imagined, however, that a journey that began in Scotland's largest city would one day take him to distant worlds aboard an ancient starship. Yet, it is aboard the starship Destiny in a distant corner of the universe where Carlyle now finds himself, as he dons the persona of Dr. Nicholas Rush in Stargate Universe, »

Pattinson Not Working On Pedrero Film

1 September 2009 9:16 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Twilight actor Robert Pattinson has dismissed reports he's lending a helping hand to movie stuntman Peter Pedrero for his directorial debut, insisting he has nothing to do with Vauxhall Crossed.

The Hollywood hunk was alleged to be joining singer/actress Dannii Minogue and The Full Monty star Hugo Speer in Pedrero's new British spy film.

But Pattinson is baffled by the claims - because he hasn't signed up for anything with his two-time Harry Potter pal, according to GossipCop.com.

Asked whether Pattinson will be starring in the movie, his representative simply told the website, "No."

Pedrero performed stunts in all the Potter films, as well as James Bond movies Goldeneye and The World Is Not Enough. »

Profiling Hogwarts' Teaching Staff In 'Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince'

16 July 2009 10:30 AM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Before Bill Nighy confirmed he was going to be joining the cast of “Harry Potter,” he wasn’t being facetious when he complained that he was the last big British actor to not be involved in the series. With heavy hitters like the late Richard Harris, Kenneth Branagh and Ralph Fiennes weaving in and out of the series, who can blame him for feeling left out?

The professors at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in particular possess acting talent which comes from the upper echelons of British celeb royalty. Young Americans might not recognize all of their faces outside of "Potter," especially those who are masked behind beards and more extensive makeup. So we've decided to profile the top Hogwarts talents for you here; not their fictional professorships, but rather the reasons you should look for them in roles outside the "Harry Potter" universe.

‘Harry Potter’ Brings Tom Felton to New York And Kristen Bell Talks Movies In Today’s Twitter-Wood

With any luck, Tom Felton’s Twitter application of choice will follow him over the border into the United States as he heads to the New York premiere for “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” He posted another pic in the Twitter-Wood feed today to announce that he is heading south for his next stop on the premiere circuit.

Newcomer to our feed Kristen Bell vehemently defended her authenticity today, so I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt that this recommendation for “My Sister’s Keeper” is for real. Mandy Moore also tweeted in with her reactions to “The King of Kong.” She actually split her thoughts over two tweets, so I stitched them together for your reading convenience. Morgan's writing credits include The Last King of Scotland, The Queen and Frost/Nixon.

An earlier report by The Observer had wrongly suggested that Paul Haggis would be returning to work with Purvis and Wade.

Haggis had polished the pair's screenplays for Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.

The duo also penned Die Another Day and The World Is Not Enough.

Daniel Craig will return as James Bond for what is known so far only as Bond 23. The producers have not revealed any other details about the movie, though it's been reported it will be partly set in Afghanistan after a Foreign Office worker from Kabul was hired as a film consultant.

Bond 23 Has Its Screenwriters

13 June 2009 1:28 PM, PDT | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

The next installment in the long-running James Bond franchise (for now referred to as simply Bond 23), has had its screenwriters announced. They are the returning Neil Purvis and Robert Wade (Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace), with a new addition of Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon, The Queen, The Last King of Scotland). Daniel Craig will of course be reprising his role as 007, and the film will be produced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.

Purvis and Wade are no strangers to the Bond franchise, having already helped to co-write the last four Bond movies together (on top of Daniel Craig’s first two Bond films, they also wrote The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day). So in light of that we can rest easy that the franchise is in experienced hands. But Morgan is the new addition, with his recent Oscar attention (he was nominated for both »

New Moon star Michael Sheen in the next James Bond flick?

DVD Playhouse—April 2009

By

Allen Gardner

Milk (Universal) Sean Penn deservedly captured his second Best Actor Oscar (and Dustin Lance Black a statuette for his original screenplay) in director Gus Van Sant’s portrait of San Francisco Supervisor Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man to hold public office in the U.S. Alternately heartbreaking, infuriating and very funny, a film that both captures a bygone era and is still very timely. Fine support from Josh Brolin, Victor Garber, James Franco and Emile Hirsch. Also available on Blu-ray disc. Bonuses: Three featurettes. Widescreen. Dolby and DTS 5.1 surround.

Slumdog Millionaire (20th Century Fox) The Best Picture of 2008 is a kinetic, clever audience-pleaser about a determined lad (Dev Patel) from the slums of Mumbai, who has his chance at literal and financial redemption as a contestant on India’s version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Jay Baruchel is Johnny Klutz

Tropic Thunder’s Jay Baruchel is bringing a passion project to the big screen in the shape of Johnny Klutz. The character – which he’s been working on for a while – is a loveable loser with zero ability to feel pain (think Robert Carlyle in The World Is Not Enough but more accident prone and less bent on terrorism). He’d been trying to find an idea that would work as a story, and now Rob McKittrick – who wrote an d directed Waiting… has cracked it, and signed on to write the film for... .
