Don't get angry with me over that pun. It's not my fault. It's not even my line. Yes, sadly, the line "let's get ready to bumble" comes directly from the script of this movie. Good grief.Killer bugs attack small town is the plot here with a pre-bigtime Katherine Heigl playing the main heroine/damsel in distress figure and a post-bigtime Randy Quaid playing an over-the-top macho bug exterminator (seen in a series of amusing adverts on TV before appearing in the flesh). The rest of the cast are either vaguely familiar, not known for anything else or, bizarrely enough, from the original series of Star Trek. But that's okay because everyone just seems to stand around while the police flap uselessly and some medical and scientific people gradually, ever so sloooooowwwwwwlllly, piece together the horrible truth. This movie was bad on so many levels. Pacing was annoyingly slow, the bug moments were sadly lacklustre and nothing was thrown in to keep even the easily pleased genre fans happy. No major gore moments, no gratuitous nudity, nothing to boost it's rating at all. Hell, the one scene of two people making out involved Heigel's parents. Ewwwwwwwwwww!I enjoy a good killer bug movie, I enjoy a good bad movie, I enjoy many different kinds of movies and am usually fairly easy to please. But I did not enjoy this.See this if you like: bad FX and terrible, terrible movies.
