When I first saw this movie a couple of years ago, I thought it was going to be more of Elke dishing out a slice of common sense while screwing an innocent family's brains out. But this movie is totally different. I've seen it advertised here as "Friend of the Family II" but it usually goes under the name "Innocence Betrayed".
Shauna O'Brien plays Linda, the main character of the movie. She just broke up with her boyfriend and is on the rebound. Paul Michael Robinson plays Alex, a married businessman who seems to be away from home a lot. He's in New Orleans on business when he meets Linda and they have a torrid affair. For the next couple of days, they spend most of their time in bed. He takes off and heads home the next morning, leaving Linda a note. In short, it says, "Thanks for the memories." She's crying now, because she thought she really loved this guy. Unfortunately, Alex leaves something behind that would soon lead Linda to come find him.
Meanwhile, back in San Francisco, Alex is at home with his wife Maddy and their young son, and everything is going along fine. Oops, Maddy feels like going back to work again. Now, Maddy needs to hire a babysitter. After several applicants, guess who shows up and gets the job?
You guessed it. Linda.
Of course, Alex doesn't know this....yet. But once he finds out, Linda threatens to tell his wife and......oh boy! The sparks fly after that.
This movie had more in common with "Scorned" than the first "Friend of the Family". After comparing Shauna's "Linda" to Shannon Tweed's "Amanda" the stories are similar: Both got screwed by a man and now getting their sweet revenge by sleeping with either him or members of his family. The only twist is in this movie, Linda is using blackmail.
Once again, this movie is written in a way if you took out some of the sex scenes and put A-list talent in the roles, it could do well as a major motion picture.
I enjoyed this movie from beginning to end, although the ending left a lot to be desired.
