That was one of the longest scrolling text/narration intros I've ever seen at the beginning of a movie, it took nearly two minutes before the movie started.
When I first saw the movie it reminded me of several other 60's B/W monster movies that were filmed in Carlsbad Caverns NM, but this one was filmed in some caverns in Old Mexico.
Spoiler - Do not read this unless you have seen the movie!
At one point in the movie some snakes/worms look like they were burned alive for the film. It looks real but whether or not it is real is unknown.
