Still in her late 20s, Natalie Portman is ambivalent if she would have plastic surgery in the future as a way to salvage her acting career in Hollywood film industry. Though so, she says she wouldn't hesitate going under the knife if she had to.
Sharing about the role of beauty in the business, she tells V Magazine in an interview for its winter 2009/2010 issue, "You see people who were stars five years ago and already they're waning." She goes on, "As actresses approach 40, it starts becoming really, really difficult."
"I would hope not," she says of whether she would ever go under the knife to maintain her wrinkle-free face. She does not, however, completely rule it out, reasoning that she won't know how she will feel as she ages.
Among the other topics that Natalie Portman discusses with V Magazine are her sex scene in the upcoming war drama »

These surprises are about subtlety in the performances that pare very pleasing to someone looking for her characters to come to life. There was a lot I saw live and on the monitors dureing that made me happy during the Blood Oath shoots themselves, but it's hard to see everything. Throughout the fight scene I was watching to make sure that Goggles(Aaron Blake or Brian Avery) didn't lose his red scarf or that Vincent's (Matty Ferraro) ponytail didn't unravel or Rik's (Lance Wesley) military patches stayed in place. There weren't a lot of moments when I could focus on the facial expressions that happened during the fight scene. »

So a rumor recently popped up online stating that there’s a new Star Wars Trilogy in the pipeline that is going to be filmed in stereoscopic 3D. The rumor originated from Market Saw, who attributed the news to a source close to the Lucasfilm camp who was feeding them this exclusive info. This new 3D Star Wars would Not be a conversion of the existing trilogy (or those prequels we do not speak of), but rather an entirely new three-part chapter in the Star Wars canon!
Another part of the rumor was that George Lucas would Not be directing this new trilogy, but would instead produce them, handing the helming duties off to more able other seasoned directors, such as Steven Spielberg and Francis Ford Coppola, who are both friends of Lucas.
Sci-fi fans, are your heads still attached to your necks?

File this one in the "We'll Believe It When We See It" category, but MarketSaw is saying an "absolutely connected," "trusted source" has let slip that, in addition to re-releasing the entire 6-part Star Wars trilogy in 3-D, George Lucas is planning on creating a new trilogy of Star Wars movies, filmed entirely in 3-D.
The article goes on to claim that Lucas is only interested in producing the trilogy, not directing, and that he may tap his friend Steven Spielberg, or perhaps Francis Ford Coppola, to helm one or all of the films.
Again, we'll believe it when we see it.

There could be a new "Star Wars" trilogy heading to the big screen in stereoscopic 3-D if Market Saw is to be trusted. Claiming to have heard the story from "a trusted source", the site reported that George Lucas will pass on the directing torch for these new projects although he will still serve as the films' producer.
On who might possibly take over Lucas' directing job, Market Saw pointed out that two heavyweight directors, Steven Spielberg and Francis Ford Coppola, are mentioned to be in consideration. While there is no further detail shared on the possible projects, it is noted that the development of this new trilogy is heavily dependent on the success of James Cameron's "Avatar", which will open wide in theaters across the U.S. on December 18.

Five Reasons Star Trek is Now Cooler Than Star Wars Remember back in early 1999 when Star Wars was still cool and you couldn’t wait for the prequels? After decades of teasing, new Star Wars movies were about to hit the big screen and anticipation was palpable. Pictures from set in Vanity Fair revealed Ewan McGregor in the trademark brown robes, the menacing red and black face paint of Darth Maul and those iconic green and red lightsabers glowing for the first time in decades. Fanboys hearts went aflutter, some going so far as to camp outside the theater for weeks beforehand. Finally, Star Wars was about to make its triumphant return!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was not able to win back-to-back weekends at the box office because it was beaten by Disney’s G-Force. The CGI guinea pigs made an estimated $32.2 million and the sixth boy wizard adventure only managed $30 million.
The rodents placed third in live-action talking animal openings behind 101 Dalmations ($33.5M) and Alvin and the Chipmunks ($44.3M). Families made up 75% of the audience and even though less than half of the screens were 3-D, they accounted for 56% of the total. The PG movie was super producer Jerry Bruckheimer’s first foray into 3-D, but it also shows that after turning a theme park into the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise he’s willing to try just about anything. Secret agent guinea pigs? Sure why not.
Harry Potter 6 dropped 61% from it’s record-breaking opening and pulled $30 million domestically. It’s still a mystery how it wasn’t able to repeat box office dominance, »

Though G-Force and The Ugly Truth opened well, it was another down weekend at the box office. Driven by less compelling new and recent releases, business as a whole was down from last year for the third weekend in a row. With around $149 million, the drop was 18 percent from the $181 million of the same timeframe last year, when The Dark Knight was in its second session and Step Brothers debuted.
Following the playbook for the perennially popular talking animal sub-genre, G-Force scooted to an estimated $32.2 million on approximately 5,200 screens at 3,697 sites, grossing a bit more out-of-the-gate than Bolt, Beverly Hills Chihuahua and Cats & Dogs, though it was far from the next Alvin and the Chipmunks. In its marketing, the picture looked like it was stitched together from past like-minded movies, from the scatological and cutesy humor of Alvin and the Chipmunks to the gizmos of Cats & Dogs and others. When it debuted at 12:01 Am last Wednesday, the sixth film of the Harry Potter franchise broke the record for best midnight gross of all-time, earning a whopping $22.2 million while playing on 3,003 screens. (Here in Chicago, at least 18 screens were devoted to a midnight showing of the film). For those keeping track, the original record of $18 million belonged to The Dark Knight, »

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has only been released in theaters for a little over 32 hours, but it's already breaking box-office records. The Tuesday midnight screenings in the brought in a solid $22.2 million dollars domestically, making it broken record #1 for a midnight opening. This is a huge deal since that means it beat out the 2007 film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix's $12 million, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen's $16 million, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith's $17 Million, and the previous title holder, The Dark Knight's $18 million. Based on historicals and how films track, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince may end up with the biggest opening weekend ever. Stay tuned to see what other spells Harry can put on the box-office. Early box office estimates for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince midnight showings gave the sixth Potter installment a record breaking $20 million. While that number is huge and has Warner Bros. Pictures dancing in their offices, the actual number is even bigger. Revised box office receipts for Potter's midnight opening screenings revise the total to $22.2 million, easily enough to secure the highest midnight opening ever. It achieved the feat from 3,003 showings, a number that will increase as the weekend approaches to 4,350 screens by Friday. Former record holder The Dark Knight's $18 million and runner-up's Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith $17 million midnight box office returns could not match the magical powers of Harry Potter. The next record likely to fall and go to HP6 is the largest gross for the first full day in theaters. That record is currently held by, you guessed it, The Dark Knight with $67.2 million. The »

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is barely out of the box-office gate and it's already broken records. Its 12.01 midnight screenings in the Us took in a whopping $22.2million dollars, making it a record-breaker for that sort of opening.Yes, that's considerably ahead of either The Dark Knight's $18m, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith's $17m or Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen's $16m. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix also opened in midnight slots in 2007, taking $12m and going on to gross $139.7m in its first five-days. If Half-Blood Prince continues to outperform its predecessor to that extent, this could be the biggest opening weekend of all time by quite a margin. »

"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" has set a new record for all-time midnight openings. According to its distributor Warner Bros., the sixth installment of "Harry Potter" series has raked in $22.2 million from its midnight screenings in North America, which is $10 million more than what "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" earned from midnight shows which took place in the same Wednesday slot.
With such amount, "Half-Blood Prince" has taken the crown from previous record holders Warners' "The Dark Knight", which collected $18.5 from midnight shows last summer, as well as 20th Century Fox's "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" which grossed $17 million over its midnight opening. The latest movie from J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" series also beat up this summer's biggest hit "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" which pulled in $16 million from its opening night back in June.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince midnight box office receipts were such a hot commodity that the first of possibly multiple records appears to have fallen. Per early estimates, Half-Blood Prince brought in an amazing $20 million from midnight showings alone which, if confirmed later today, would be second to none. The previous record-holder for a midnight opening was The Dark Knight, also from Warner Bros. That film powered its way to an $18 million opening which, at the time, moved its past Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith with $17 million. Potter mania is expected to carry through the rest of the week and into the weekend where records will be put to the test. 2009 top honors held by Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen should be the first to fall. I'll chime back in with Potter box office results as they are released. »

Harry Potter And The Half-blood Prince has smashed U.S. box office records by raking in $22.2 million (£14.8 million) in less than 24 hours on Wednesday to score the best midnight opening gross of all time.
The sixth movie in the boy wizard franchise easily topped The Dark Knight's midnight opening earnings of $18 million (£12 million) when it was released last summer, and the $17 million (£11.3 million) grossed by Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith in 2005.
The latest installment, which stars Daniel Radcliffe as Potter, even cast its spell over a record number of Potter fans - the new film drew more devotees in its first few hours on show than 2007's Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which took $12 million (£8 million) in its first day of release.
Wednesday's box office haul means director David Yates' big screen adaptation holds the title for biggest midnight draw of the year so far - Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen took $16 million (£10.7 million) upon its first screenings in June.
And experts are predicting the Half-Blood Prince will topple the Transformers action sequel as the world's most popular film of the year, if opening figures are anything to go by - Revenge of the Fallen's 12 day total stood at $600 million (£400 million). »

Update: USA Today is reporting the midnight number for Half-Blood Prince as $22.2 million. Well, how do you think the Wednesday/Thursday box-office results for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince are going to shake out now that it is being reported the film pulled in a record $20 million in midnight showings alone to beat The Dark Knight's previous record of $18 million and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith's $17 million? Just yesterday our Box-Office Oracle, Laremy Legel, got his predictions in just under the gun and estimated a whopping $60.1 million for Wednesday and another $34.7 million for Thursday. Such ambitious predictions have it besting the $91.1 million two-day haul of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen... Will it be so? Revenge of the Fallen is already $4 million in the hole if we go off midnight screenings alone with its $16 million earned earlier this year. To date, the highest grossing »

According to Variety, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince set an all-time record for its midnight opening, which took in an estimated $22.2 million. The movie screened a combined 3,003 times in theaters across the country, which means each screening took in almost $7,400.
This figure puts the sixth Potter movie well ahead of The Dark Knight and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, which earned $18 million and $17 million, respectively with their midnight debuts. It also eclipses the $16 million made by last month's midnight screenings of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
In addition, ABC News10 in Sacramento is reporting that Half-Blood Prince has overtaken The Dark Knight as the #2 entry on Fandango's list of Top 10 all-time advance ticket sellers. That puts it ahead of movies like Twilight, Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, and Spiderman 3. It now trails only Revenge of the Sith.
