Ryan Harrison (Leslie Nielsen) is a violinist framed for murdering a rich man (Michael York); he ends up escaping and taking it on the lam while searching for the one-armed, one-legged, one-eyed killer who was really responsible.
In typical fashion, this parody is mostly making fun of the 1993 Harrison Ford / Tommy Lee Jones chase thriller "The Fugitive", but takes potshots at many other movies and bits of pop culture along the way. The difference is I actually found much of this to be funny. It's of course silly and completely lacking in subtlety but that's the whole point. I'm glad to say that I actually laughed at it. While it does lose momentum and laughs (around the one-hour mark - the film-makers had exhausted all their best material) like other comedies before it, it's still above-average of its type. I thought it was better than "Jane Austen's Mafia", at any rate (they came out the same year).
This marked the film-making debut of Pat Proft, a veteran comedy screenwriter who co-wrote the films in the "Naked Gun" and "Hot Shots!" series.
I gave it seven out of ten.
