'Thor' Cast Gets Two

The cast surrounding Marvel’s God of Thunder continues to develop.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jaimie Alexander and Canadian actor Colm Feore are the latest additions to Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming Thor. Alexander will play Sif, an Asgardian warrior who can hold her own against any man, and the romantic rival of Natalie Portman‘s character.

Feore’s role, meanwhile, is being kept top-secret, although it is rumored he will be playing a villain alongside Tom Hiddleston’s Loki.

Thor revolves around a mighty yet arrogant warrior who, as punishment for re-igniting an ancient war, is cast down to Earth to live among humans. Along with learning humility and how to be a true hero, he falls in love with a mortal woman named Jane Foster (Portman) and saves the world. Thor is one of several Marvel Comics movie adaptations expected to dovetail into the 2012 release, The Avengers.

Ja of Mnpp here would like to ask two related questions:

1) To those of you who saw it this past weekend, how was she in Grey Gardens? How was the whole thing? I haven't gotten around to watching it yet (I will tonight), but the only thing I've noticed from the trailers and pictures of the production is that the blankets on Old Big-Edie's bed just don't seem pee-stained enough to me, ya know what I mean? I wanna feel like I can't breathe in in there. Like my eyes are burning.

2) And what's your favorite Lange performance? Frances?

Carly in Blue Sky? Julie in Tootsie? Tamora in Titus?

(And as a star-f*cking side-note, I have to admit that right this very second as I was working on this post, Jessica Lange actually called my office and I just spoke to her. »

The temporary score (a collection of pre-existing music utilized during the editing) is a controversial creative aid which was first utalized by the editors to keep some rhythm to their works. Today the job of producing and editing temporary track is a whole job onto itself. In the following article you'll hear a lot more about this job from two of Hollywood's top temp editors: Scott Stambler is a frequent collaborator of Rob Reiner and served as a temp editor on such features as Forrest Gump, The Kingdom and most recently on Tropic Thunder. Mark "Vordo" Wlodarkiewicz does a variety of music editing jobs which naturally includes temp editing: his most recent credits include Eragon, The Simpsons Movie and yes, he worked on Tropic Thunder as well.
