Laxmi has her sights on Bollywood

Top Southern actress Laxmi (Lakshmi Rai) has been offered a part in Bollywood’s Heyy Gujju with Himesh Reshammiya in a double role - but because of the usual contractual obligations is so far unable to say much. “I’ve moved to Mumbai and am getting ready to do the film,” she confirms, “I’ve been asked to lose nine kilos for the role.”

Laxmi is popular throughout the South, particularly in Kollywood and Mollywood - but doesn’t she find shuttling between the different climatic, cultural and language zones hard work? “Oh yes! It’s very difficult to adjust to diverse climates and food,” she says, “The last two months have been quite hectic. Mastering the languages is another tough task, but am hoping I will be able to overcome that handicap soon.”

Tony Scott + Chippendales Means a Different Kind of Action

That's right, Variety reports Tony Scott, the man responsible for such adrenaline fueled action flicks as Deja Vu and Enemy of the State, is gearing up to bring some sex to the silver screen in the form of a biopic about the rise and fall of Chippendales club creator Steve Banerjee. The Scott Free banner will produce the Lisa Schraeger written script (she also wrote another sex driven bipoic chronicling the Heidi Fleiss story Pay the Girl for Nicole Kidman) which is being adapted from some sort of manuscript written by Rodney Sheldon. No cast have been announced, but with all the shirtless guys in Hollywood it can't be that difficult. The story of Banerjee has plenty of interesting ups and downs. What are Your Guilty Pleasure Movies, but Don't Like to Admit It?

I thought the response to my "Do You Ever Lie about the Movies You've Seen? " post was excellent, and on top of everything so many of you said, several new questions came as a result. One of them, offered by 'Steve Mott', asks the question in the headline: Do you have guilty pleasures you don't like to admit to?

Steve lists his guilty pleasure as 10 Things I Hate About You, a film I personally love and was just discussing recently with a friend when the topic of "Where the hell did Julia Stiles go?" came up. To that effect I also love Save the Last Dance and to answer the Stiles question before someone gets smart in the comments, yes, she has the Bourne films and wrote and directed a film starring Zooey Deschanel and has also been doing plenty of work on stage. Courtesy of Universal, here's an exclusive first glimpse of the State Of Play poster, soon to be adorning a bus stop near you. In keeping with any self-respecting conspiracy thriller, there's a moody, noirish feel to it and plenty of meaningful staring.  Presumably the shady character in the corner will take care of the running around and shooting part.For those who didn't catch the acclaimed BBC miniseries on which it's based, State Of Play features journalist Cal McAffrey (Russell Crowe), whose investigation into the suspicious death of a prominent politician's mistress plunges him and his editor (Helen Mirren) into a world of corruption. We're hoping for a combination of the taut plotting of All The President's Men and The Parallax View, the freewheeling thrills of Enemy Of The State, and the double-dealing and sinister scheming of Empire on press day.
