During the sequence in Africa when Tommy saves Katherine, after he takes her to shore, Tommy was actually supposed to be attacked by a crocodile. He would have been dragged into the water by his Power Box backpack when the crocodile grabs it in its jaws, but he manages to jam a nearby log into the animal's mouth and swims to shore. When the crocodile follows Tommy to shore, Katherine takes a blow torch from her Power Box and fires a torch to scare the crocodile away. The sequence was ultimately cut to keep the running time of the film short. This is explains why there is a photo of Katherine holding a flame thrower on the back of the back cover of the movie's VHS and DVD, but it isn't seen in the film.

Goofs:

Continuity: When Kimberly (Amy Jo Johnson) tries to escape from Divatox's bilge, the left side of her tank top gets caught on a bolt until Jason (Austin St. John) helps get her free and she escapes. When Kimberly arrives on Muiranthias, she has a hole in her tank top from when it got caught in the bilge, but it is on the right side instead of the left side and remains on the right side for the rest of the film.

Some of the most incompetent filmmaking ever!

Now, I knew this was going to be a bad movie. But OW! I didn't think it would be as bad as this! First of all, if you haven't watched the show, you'll have no idea as to what's going on. Second, the dialogue is incredibly bad. One example: When they rangers see their new cars, one comments something like, "Those are just ordinary cars." She's answered, "No, these are EXTRAORDINARY cars!" I was rolling on the floor with some of this bad dialogue!

The movie is also badly edited and directed. Take the scene when the green car, floating on water, moves out of the ship and into the open water. We never actually see the car moving out of the ship - the camera is placed on the deck of the boat, several feet back. From what we see, it's obvious the floating car was hiding next to the ship all along.

There are two cretins for comic relief - neither of them is funny, or serves any purpose to the plot. The acting by everyone is HORRIBLE! There isn't any real action scene until half the movie is over! The rangers don't actually become rangers in action until the last 20 minutes or so!

This would be a great movie for MST3K, if it was still playing.
