New Yorkers have a way of rattling on endlessly, preferably in coffee shops, or in their tiny, jumbled little apartments with 200 coats of paint on the walls. Their dialog sounds intellectual and important, but really it's just drivel. That also sums up this movie. For the first two acts one watches thinking that maybe, just maybe hidden somewhere in all that self-important banter, there is a story to be told. There's not. Ultimately it appears as if they were all just making up as they went along, and in the third act what tiny little thread of direction they had was completely abandoned. I have no idea what this movie was about, nor what motivated any of the characters.
