There is a scene in the film where Harry Donovan finds out about the death of his father (played by Rod Steiger) from heart failure in a newspaper clipping. The date of death given was Tuesday, July 9. Rod Steiger died five years later on Tuesday, July 9, 2002 of pneumonia and kidney failure.

Factual errors: When Harry Donovan is in Amsterdam and tries to buy painting in two different shops, both shop owners speak German and not Dutch.

Underrated

Yes, the production values of INCOGNITO (especially the gauzy photography) smack of "B" Level production, this film shines for a few reasons, most notably the peek into the world of Art, Art History and Art Forgery. Anyone who considers themselves curious about both Rembrandt, his place in the art world, and the art world's place in history will enjoy this movie. The performances are excellent, and it deserved better than Direct to Video.
