Since 1973 John Sinclair is one of Germany's longest running written weekly pulp horror series in a long standing tradition like Jerry Cotton, Doc Savage, The Spider, Diabolik... So when finally the JS-community in Europe heard about the filming of their hero's adventures, the hopes where very high. Very soon they noticed that this hope was idle. The transfer from novel to screen is an example on how-not-to-do-it. The movie is really a bad and unnecessary hoax. A slap in the face of the many thousand fans of John Sinclair. The difference between the movie and the weekly serial is as different as the sun and the moon. They have nothing in common. You even get the impression that the production company did everything in their power to stray as far away from the basic ingredients of the pulp series as possible so that the informed fan has no point of recollection. So the conclusion is that if you are going to watch this movie it is best to see it without knowing any information about the weekly serial. If you do watch it with pre-knowledge this movie could be a very bad horror trip for you!
