The Story: Wanted killer Joseph Meeker is caught during a robbery gone bad. He is sent to the electric chair but returns from the dead to taunt the cop who killed his wife.
Judge & Jury comes directed by John Eyres, a B-grade director who specialises in direct-to-video action films. He is best known for Project: Shadowchaser, an entertaining combination of The Terminator & Die Hard. The film is the last of a particular mini-genre which involves killers being executed by an electric chair but who come back from the grave to torment those who put them away. This one is different from the others in the fact that it is more of an action film than a true horror film. The script never rises above mediocrity & the direction is slick but soulless. The only good point is David Keith, who has a lot of fun playing around in various forms. He pops up in the form of an Elvis impersonator, a biker with orange hair, as a drag queen, a professor in a tweed jacket, a clown & in what is the most over-the-top performance, a French chef with an accent that is as bad as his handlebar moustache. Keith's OTT performance makes the film stick to being mediocre.
