the box is very misleading. i was expecting a romance comedy...far from it. ms. danes does what she can with the script, which sort of couldn't decide whether it wanted a holocaust story or a romance. the script also wasted mr. law's talent. jeanne moreau is wonderfully sad and does an excellent job of the grandmother. all together, the movie had potential but the writers didn't expand much beyond superficiality.
