Simply stunning and impressive, 18 July 2004
Author: missmarmite from Hamburg, Germany

I came accidentally across this series, which was not being shown on German TV as of July 04. I found it in my local video shop, sitting nicely on the shelf, not telling what great and convincing story telling hid behind the almost boring video cover.

The stories and above all the characters are so perfectly developed that I couldn't wait to rent the next video. Now the series is over, but still I love to watch it from time to time. The life at the end of the nineties is portrayed so honestly that it is such a joy to watch the characters go through thick and thin together.

In my opinion the best performance delivers Hermione Norris. She is allowed to show happiness, sadness, good luck and bad luck. And she is not only allowed to do so, she does. She definitely impresses most.
