Someone must have made mistakes

Warning: the following comment contain some spoilers! I think the problem of that film is the story. Maybe inexperience and/or overconfidence drowned the writing and editing process. And how a script like that could end being shoot is beyond me. In the beginning Angelo meet Fredo, they work together for the rest of the film until the last scene, but after 2 minutes we can guess that Fredo is crooked. And I remember a scene supposed to be a spoof of the film "The Piano" where we can see Angelo letting himself drown in a swamp for 5 full minutes, handing little signs with what he say printed on, like in "Looney Tunes". That may be funny, but for a few seconds, not 5 minutes... However technically the directing and acting is good, actors are big names for a french canadian movie. I recommend only to persons who fall asleep while watching movies, they won't miss anything.
