  • Continuity: The ground dries very quickly.

  • Anachronisms: The Armani logo on Ellen's sunglasses.

  • Anachronisms: Remington-Peters did not begin stamping "R-P" on their ammunition until the 1960s.

  • Continuity: While Cort and Herod supposedly have their gunfight at dawn, the sun is significantly higher in the sky, revealing it's much later.

  • Continuity: At the end when Ellen shoots Herod in the center of his chest the sunlight shows through Herod's shadow. However, the sun is high in the sky and cannot possibly show through a foot long hole through Herod's chest. The sun would have to have been setting behind him.

  • Continuity: The bills in Herod's right hand disappear and reappear between cuts.

  • Anachronisms: When the bartender is filling the peanut bowls it is obvious the big peanut jars he is feeding from are made of plastic.

  • Continuity: During the fight between Cort and Herod, they are both supposed to be using their left hands. Between explosions, Herod is again seen with his gun in his left hand. However, he re-holsters his right hand gun before the fight with Ellen.

  • Continuity: This is similar to, but not exactly the same as other goofs. Immediately before the gunfight between Herod and Ellen, Herod's shadow is at his right, behind him. Immediately after the fight, Herod looks down at his shadow (and the hole) directly in front of him.

  • Miscellaneous: When Ellen appears for the last fight scene, she flicks (from her chest without a back swing) her father's Marshall badge at Herod's feet. A couple of scenes later you can see that the distance between the two of them is too far for her to have reached his feet. After Herod is killed, Ellen retrieves the badge from the ground and tosses (with a back swing from the hips) it at Cort just reaching him. The distance between the two is shorter.

  • Continuity: During the rainstorm in the cemetery, the sky can be clearly seen to be almost entirely cloudless, except for a couple of cumulus (fair-weather) clouds in the distance.

  • Continuity: After shooting Herod, Ellen has her gun held straight out, but as he raises his gun again, Ellen draws her gun again, with the same hand, without ever putting it back.

  • Anachronisms: During the gunfight between Ellen and Cort, there is a close up shot of Ellen's eyes including her contact lenses.

  • Continuity: After young Ellen shoots the Marshal standing on the stool, the next shot shows the gang riding out. The stool the Marshal was standing on is nowhere to be seen.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Herod fires the first shot at Ace Hanlon, the gun is obviously pointed at the ground when the flame bursts out of the gun.

  • Continuity: When Eugene Dred steps down the stairs, just after the girl who he seduced, he carries the guns on his shoulder. Then the gun in the front changes position from one shot to another.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Ellen in suppose to be on horseback at the beginning of the movie she is standing still looking upon the town. When the gang of horsemen run by her the camera's frame is too big because you can see she is pretending to hold on to reins. In actuality she is not sitting on a horse and she is holding up nothing.

  • Continuity: When Herod shoots Sgt. Clay Cantrell for the first time and then begins to speak to the crowd, Sgt. Clay Cantrell appears to be grasping at a wound to the stomach area but there is an obvious bullet hole in his upper left leg which points to two wounds from one shot.

  • Plot holes: Court tells Ellen to wait for a tick before the clock strikes the hour to draw. She hears the click, and shoots. The clock never chimes the hour.

  • Continuity: When The Kid draws and at Scars, the closeup shot appears to show him shooting left handed, but the film is actually reversed, indicated by his revolver's ejector rod being on the wrong side of the gun's barrel. After Scars fires, the distant shot of The Kid shows him holding his revolver in his right hand.

>>> WARNING: Here Be Spoilers <<<

Goofs below here contain information that may give away important plot points. You may not want to read any further if you've not already seen this title.

  • Continuity: SPOILER: When Ellen tosses the Marshall's badge at Herod, it lands in front of him near his feet. When she shoots him the second time, the force of the bullet throws Herod several feet backwards. However, when Ellen picks up the badge it is still between Herod's feet.
