Hollywood star Edward Burns has been awarded a doctorate by the university he dropped out of seven years ago. The 33-year-old Saving Private Ryan star left Hunter College in New York in 1994 before he finished his undergraduate degree. So the star - who is engaged to sexy supermodel Christy Turlington - was presented with an honorary doctorate by the college instead. Burns pulled out of school to make his first film The Brothers McMullen.
