Adam Sandler has fallen into a relatively diverse career. After his star-making turn on "Saturday Night Live," I've enjoyed his immature comedic stylings in films like Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison, but it's Sandler's performances in Reign Over Me, Punch-Drunk Love (a personal favorite) and recently Funny People which have commanded my respect in showing he can do much more than silly voices and sudden bursts into angry fits of rage. But it looks like Sandler is navigating back into more comedic grounds as Variety announces he will take on twin roles as the twin siblings in the romantic comedy Jack and Jill. Of course Sandler will be producing under his Happy Madison banner with longtime partner Jack Giarraputo, but no word on who will be directing the script written by Steve Koren (Bruce Almighty) who has worked with Sandler since his days back at "SNL" and on films like Click. »

From decrying a severe lack of female filmmakers to satirically mocking the concept of judging actresses by how much return on investment they offer, it seems like we've been balls-deep in feminism lately. We realize that you, dear reader, believe that only men are allowed to direct movies, but that's just not true! Women have a long and storied history with the art of filmmaking, and even though it will probably upset your precious little chauvinist default settings, we're here to tell you that some of your favorite explosions, quotable comedies and fight scenes are directed by the fairer sex. In fact, some of your very favorite films had women at the helm. Leave your Neanderthal preconceived notions about woman filmmakers at the door, and prepare for your mind to be blown. 10. An adverter-wooing study commissioned by Comedy Central -- so, at least a little skepticism is allowed here -- says that more than 20 percent of Tds and Colbert Report fans say "people think I'm cool because I watch ," according to the New York Times. Here's where I'd make my "then call me Miles Davis" joke, except I'm afraid making a Billy Madison reference will strip me of whatever illusory coolness points I've earned by seeing every episode ever of both Tds and The Report. I'm extremely reluctant to buy the idea that just watching a show (or a movie or whatever) can make you cool. It's an art, not a science, etc etc, deep down I'm a guidance counselor, etc. But! If there's any show that could do it, it really is The Daily Show: What's cooler than being smart and funny? (Please say "nothing." This is my only chance. »

Blu-Ray Review
Directed by: Frank Coraci
Cast: Adam Sandler, Kathy Bates, Henry Winkler
Running Time: 1 hr 30 mins
Rating: PG-13
Due Out: August 4, 2009
Plot: A losing football team enlists its gentle yet aggressively sensitive water boy (Sandler) Bobby Boucher to boost their defense and team morale.
Who’s It For? Most obviously, anyone who can appreciate the zanier side of Adam Sandler. But the inclusion of notable figures from the football world, like Bill Cowher and Jimmy Johnson, will entertain sports fans alike.
Movie:
Fitting nicely into a classic triumvirate consisting of Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore, Adam Sandler’s The Waterboy is another proud moment in his comedic career that makes the most out of a paper thin premise. The humor is successfully wacky, especially with the full support of seasoned faces likes Winkler and Bates. The memorable characters of The Waterboy even make the goofy movie a bit endearing, »

Holy shit, is the transforming robots movie terrible! Yeah, that seriously sums up the last two and a half hours of my life. To paraphrase the movie Billy Madison, I, and everybody in the auditorium, are dumber having seen it. I'm having a real difficult time comprehending things right now. I actually wrote down a note during the film that reads "Why do the robots have teeth?". I got confused and bored and amazed and mildly retarded. I am not the same after. It's really hopped up. I wouldn't miss it just for the conversation it will stir up, but I am not calling it good, or even watchable at t... »

It’s not every day that a high school prank hits the newswire. A high school senior in Shaker Heights, Ohio, made headlines by designing a yearbook cover that hid an a F-bomb of a farewell salute. He was forced to apologize and the school quickly recalled the yearbooks, but most seniors are holding onto their obscene copies in salute to their artistic prankster. At Shaker’s graduation ceremony last week, he was hailed as a hero of the senior class, receiving loudest applause and the most cheers of any student as he accepted his diploma.
So, to salute the hero of Shaker Heights and every other senior prankster, I’ve compiled five of the best high school movie pranks. It’s hard to narrow it down to just five because they’re a staple of comedies, drama and horror alike. Keep that genre-spanning in mind if you’re dreaming »

That’s right, he’s not just the mega-star of goofy comedies where he does strange and sometimes very annoying voices, Adam Sandler is also a movie producer, and his latest is the teen slasher “The Shortcut”. Sure, the trailer makes it look like the most generic teen slasher you’ve ever seen, but did all those teen slashers have Billy Madison jumping out of a bush and hitting the indestructible bad guy over the head with a golf club? I didn’t think so! Okay, so “The Shortcut” doesn’t have that, either, but wouldn’t it be cool if it did? Trailer and images from “The Shortcut” below. A shortcut through the woods saved a lot of time getting to school, but no kids growing up in a suburban neighborhood dared to take it. The trail ran within sight of a scary house with an eerie old man »

Written by Nico When Skeeter was a child, he helped his father run the family hotel. Unfortunately, while a great host, his father wasn't much for the financial side of things and was forced to sell his floundering business to hotel mogul Barry Nottingham. Nottingham promises that if Skeeter spends his time working hard on premises, he will get his shot at managing the place someday. Years pass and the hotel grows, but Skeeter is still only the hotel handyman. Insult to injury, Nottingham names the pompous Kendall as general manager successor. Skeeter's straight-laced sister Wendy asks him to watch his niece Bobbi and nephew Patrick while she goes out of town in search of a new job. Though she's a principal at a local school, that school is about to be shut down (cough foreshadowing cough). While babysitting, Skeeter ... »

Adam Sandler's latest movie finds the funny man collaborating with the fine folks at Disney . if you can believe that! The end result is the gentle but tepid family film Bedtime Stories.
In Bedtime Stories, Sandler plays Skeeter Bronson, a hotel handy man who entertains his niece and nephew by telling them fantastical stories that feature elements inspired by his own underappreciated existence. As the children become more and more enamored by his tales of fancy, they begin adding their own little twists to the stories. To Skeeter's great amazement, many of these odd twists . including a massive gum-ball storm - become a reality. Is there a higher power at work, or are these strange happenings merely bizarre coincidences?
Bedtime Stories is harmless enough. In fact, it is by far the least crude of Sandler's infantile catalog, and this is coming from a fan. Infantile and Sandler go together like chocolate and peanut butter. »
