Ladies and gentlemen, this show is what Spidey was all about. THIS was the show about his insecurity, his money problems, and most of all, the CHARACTER of Peter Parker. They did this in an interesting way, not necessarily following the comic book stories (Felicia Hardy loves Michael Morbius? Felecia Hardy KNOWS Michael Morbius?!?!).
This made for some good things and some bad things in the series. Some villains were given "introductory episodes" that really served no purpose. I'm thinking of The Green Goblin Hobgoblin, Scorpion, Lizard, and many others here. Then, these villains would have a "serious" fight with Spidey later down the road. It almost ALWAYS followed this format. It allowed for very little development for some of them. Simply not enough time.
Now, on to the good stuff. I enjoyed how they constantly portrayed the struggle between Peter's real life and his life as Spider-Man. I enjoyed the fights. I enjoyed the correct use of the villains. Hell, I was even impressed by how they got around the "Gwen Stacy death" story line in an imaginative way. Death in cartoons in a no-no, after all. Overall, I recommend this to anyone, if you find it.
