So powerful in every sense of the word! As entertaining and character driven as any truly terrific movie would call to mind. I could not even describe how involved I was in the whole disturbing scenario. I felt twice as angry as Ray did, to the point of yelling furiously every five minutes or so at the screen. Thinking I might not get through some of the more graphic scenes toward the end, I held my breath more times than not, but I'm pleased to say I thought the ending was perfect and the most fitting end to that whole twisted situation.
Only gripe: I found the girl Toni Peck annoying, not only in dialogue but in character. Unfortunately I didn't see much point to her being there. I suppose she served a bit of a purpose, but I thought more might be done with her than (IMO) hopelessly getting in the way.
Overall: I was shocked, stunned, amazed...everything this film hoped to invoke in its audience. I can easily see why it won the Sundance audience award.
