Sex & Nudity

-Sex noises come from a bedroom window. A young boy can hear them from the yard. It is implied that the boy's mother had sex with the school principal so he would admit the boy to the school. The boy sees the man leave the house.

-A couple is shown kissing in bed and there is the suggestion of sex.

-A woman is shown in her underwear; she removes her bra and we see her bare back and the side of her right breast as she places a man's hand on her breast. The man has an orgasm.

-A woman wearing only thong panties has a guitar in front of her, and we see the side of her bare chest and her bare back and buttocks as she sits on a barstool.

-A man's butt is shown bandaged after he was shot in battle.

-Several men are seen showering in a background shot. Some pubic hair shows as a man dries off.

-There are references to a young girl and her sisters being sexually abused by their father. The girl goes to live with her grandmother.

-Two male friends make out with two female prostitutes.

-A Playboy magazine with pictures of clearly visible breasts is shown.

Violence & Gore

-War scenes from Vietnam show men being wounded and blown up; a large bloody gut wound and a leg wound are shown graphically. During the war many scenes of explotions and shoot outs, sometime resulting in blood spraying.

-A man loses his legs in war, and is shown throughout the movie.

-Archival materials include a newsreel of George Wallace getting shot, and references to John and Bobby Kennedy being killed. There is also footage of Pres. Reagan being shot.

-Young boys throw rocks at another boy and hit him in the head.

-There are several fist fights which end in bloody noses.

- A woman is slapped in the face and knocked down Forest then beats the crap out of the man who hit her.

Profanity

The F-word is used once. The S-word is used eight times (one of those on a bumper-sticker). Prolly anywhere from 50-150 minor profanities.

A few racial slurs and comments are heard throughout the film, including two protest signs with the N-word.

G-damnit is used at least 10 times. They occur mostly in the first half of the film.

The film uses quite strong profanity

-Several kinds of drugs (including LSD, cocaine, and heroin) are used in the movie.

-Alcohol is used, sometimes to excess.

-Cigarette smoking is shown throughout.

-The Vietnam war scenes are often violent and intense.

-Soldiers are seen seriously injured, and some are seen with missing limbs bandaged in a hospital.

-A couple of intimations of a young girl's being sexually molested by her father may disturb some viewers.

-A woman stands at a bridge railing and considers jumping to her death. Later she looses her footing while standing on a balcony railing.
