There is an opening scene where Gregory Hines character is seen with a woman who has obviously just been shot, then we see a gun pointed to the back of Hines' head, cocked, ready to fire.
This scene, however, fails to tie in with the ending, or anything else in the film.
So who is the person holding the gun on Gregory Hines at the beginning of the film? Just a figment of his imagination?
Since we then see Gregory Hines character alive and well, we can only assume we're now in a flashback.
Much of the film drags along, with occasional elements of suspense and mystery, but you never get the pay-off of WHY the person who is committing the murders did the killings.
Or any explanation for the opening scene, or another scene in the middle of a suspense-filled scenario--where we see Gregory Hines turning his head and seeing a woman in a blue dress pointing a gun at him through a window. It comes to nothing. Its just a flash and then we're back where we were, with no explanation.
Yeah, you finally know "who dunnit", but you don't know why, and you have no explanation for the other two scenes.
My advice -- don't waste your time on this goofy, mostly draggy film. Because you'll probably, like me, just end up feeling somewhat frustrated and saying: "WHA'?!?" when it ends.
