  • Continuity: When the boardroom "meeting" begins, the ON AIR sign is lit. During the course of the meeting it switches off and remains off (it should have been lit throughout).

  • Continuity: When The Lone Rangers are on TV, Rex has on a Rebel Radio hat but in the next shot it's off.

  • Incorrectly regarded as goofs: The sign outside of the station lists the broadcast frequency as 103.6. FM radio stations in America always use odd numbers for their broadcast frequencies. However, like the infamous '555' telephone exchange, this is deliberate use of fictitious numbering.

  • Continuity: As "The Lone Rangers" take stage near the end of the movie a point is made that the stage equipment are non-functional props. Yet after Chaz refuses to play Ian grabs and shouts into a "prop" microphone.

  • Revealing mistakes: In the last scene when the band is trashing the stage and instruments, Chaz pretends to smash a PRS guitar, actually just slowing his swing to not hit the full stack guitar amp, only pretending to smash it.

  • Plot holes: During the impromptu concert in the radio stations parking lot, the band had to at least give the impression that they were performing live, though the record company exec ordered them at the last minute to lip-sync for the sake of editing the video. Conceivably, the instruments could have been set up to run "direct" into the soundboard, which would explain why we see no microphones set up to amplify their sounds through the PA and why their absence was not questioned. The drums, however, are another matter. There is not a single drum mic setup anywhere near the kit so Pip, as an experience musician, should have been able to instantly tell that they were being set-up to put on a fake show.

  • Plot holes: As the movie nears the end there are 2 plot points that are never adequately resolved. The first is the fate of the radio stations accountant, Doug Beech. He spends the majority of the film hiding in the air conditioning ducts and even as the the drama shifts from one of an apparently real hostage situation, to that of an elaborate record company ploy to exploit the band, he never emerges from his hiding place. Even after being blasted by a fire extinguisher, he merely retreats back into the ductwork never to be seen from or even referred to again. The 2nd point involves the SWAT leader, Carl Mace. When the gathered crown storms past the police lines to get near the band, Sgt O'Malley directs the other officers to simply let them pass. At this point we see officer Mace climb to the roof of a car and point a shotgun at the musicians on stage. Unfortunately, that is where his involvement ends and it is never revealed what happened from that scene on with regards to his preparing to shoot.

  • Continuity: In the scene where Chazz Darvey (Brendan Fraser) goes outside to speak with Sergeant O'Malley (Ernie Hudson) for the first time, he is greeted with an aggressive squad of officers; when the camera shifts to Officer Wilson and Sergeant O'Malley, Chazz is seen walking forward in the background when he should have been on his knees during the shot.
