Altough the quality of this DVD is better than other Lumivision IMAX titles, this DVD still falls short to accurately reproduce anything resembling IMAX. Of course, the IMAX experience can not be reproduced with low resolution home cinema systems, but with such a detailed source, it should be possible to make the best ever DVD. Obviously this is a challenge which Lumivision still has to face.
As the other Lumivision DVDs this transfer was also made from a composite video master, as is clearly visible by the cross-color effects which appear quite often. In addition the video is a bit noisy. The resolution is ok, but not what DVD can deliver.
Peter W. Simeon :
Lumivision included a 5.1 channel sound mix, which is the least I expect from an IMAX movie. Unfortunately someone did fiddle with the frequency response of the sound channels. The result is way to much bass in the center channel, which makes the voice of James Earl Jones a bit uncomfortable to listen to.
