Ever since I watched Neil Simon's Murder by Death over the weekend, and subsequently wrote about it, my head has been full of murder mysteries. More specifically, those set at the dinner table.
There's just something about a large feast, a collection of quirky characters, and the need to solve a mystery that works wonderfully again and again. It's no wonder there's a whole business dedicated to murder mysteries over dinner. Do those gourmet flavors like Sharks' Fin Soup inspire mental clarity? Or is it just the fact that sitting at a large table makes it harder to flee when hard truth hits? I've no idea, but again and again, the suspects sit and the truth ultimately comes out -- usually with the help of a clever detective like Nick Charles, Hercule Poirot, or a handful of colorful suspects pointing the finger at themselves.

Zach Braff to return to movies Swingles

Funny dude Zach Braff will follow up to his 2004 indie film Garden State with a comedy called “Swingles.”
The “Scrubs” star is currently in negotiations with Paramount Pictures to write, direct, and co-star in the film, which already has Cameron Diaz on board. Swingles is still searching for a male lead, as Braff will only play a supporting character.
The story is about “a bachelor who is dumped by his wingman and teams up with a sharp-tongued woman he can’t stand in order to meet singles.” It is based off a Duncan Birmingham spec and a draft written by Jeff Roda.
Public Enemies producer Kevin Misher will be supporting the project.
With a zippy title like “Swingles” and the inclusion of Cameron Diaz, it doesn’t seem like this Braff’s film will echo the adolescent melodramatic garbage that made Garden State so distasteful. Braff’s past forays into
