I always look back on this fondly. It was so silly and juvenile, but it made me laugh constantly, which may not make it very credible, but it was still memorable and an all round great film. Not being a fan of the original television series, I wasn't quite sure whether I'd enjoy this or not. But thankfully I went ahead and watched it, and I was pleasantly surprised. The storyline itself could be perceived as dull, but the great cast and equally great one-liners carry it through. All the cast do a perfect job in their parts, all proving themselves great comic actors. The incomparable Lily Tomlin is delightfully dippy as Jane Hathaway, and Lea Thompson is gorgeous as the devious Laura. The Clampett's themselves are also excellent, with Diedrich Bader and a hilarious Cloris Leachman providing the funniest moments. If The Beverly Hillbillies is anything, it's very funny. It may be predictable, and constant viewings may not be to everyone's taste, but if it's a laugh you're after, then you've come to the right place.
