  • Continuity: Piece of stringy licorice that Garth pulls out in car.

  • Continuity: Garth claims that the security guard said that Frank Sharp will be coming through Chicago on Fridays. The security guard never actually mentions any day of the week.

  • Continuity: On their way to Milwaukee, an exterior shot of the Mirthmobile shows Garth driving and Wayne in the passenger seat. In the next shot (Garth pulling out licorice), it's the other way around.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: None of the band members in Crucial Taunt (especially the drummer) play in time with the music that they are heard to make.

  • Continuity: Cassandra's braid in the scene as she packs to go and shoot her music video.

  • Continuity: The position of the film when Wayne opens up the camera at Cassandra's music video shoot.

  • Incorrectly regarded as goofs: 'Rob Lowe (I)''s character is listed as "Benjamin Oliver" in the credits, but when he first meets Wayne and Garth, he introduces himself as "Benjamin Cain." Contrary to popular belief, this isn't a goof, but a deliberate joke by the crew - a crew member's child had a friend named Oliver Benjamin.

  • Continuity: Supposedly playing in the basement at night, daylight is visible through the window over Garth's shoulder.

  • Continuity: The show Benjamin watches at the beginning of the movie and the tape (of the same episode) that he shows Van Der Hoff, are different. The second time it is seen, Wayne pauses and stutters on words he didn't the first time.

  • Continuity: In the Suck-n-Cut scene the vacuum hose changes from in front of Garth to behind his back

  • Continuity: The scene in the donut shop takes place in a "Stan Mikita's donuts". However, as Glen starts walking, you can see the real Stan Mikita's building behind him.

  • Errors in geography: There are no palm trees in Aurora, Illinois.

  • Continuity: In the Stan Makita Donut Shop, Garth is stabbing the Donut man with a red mini-hockey stick. A few shots later it is a blue mini-hockey stick.

  • Continuity: In the donut shop, in the scene where Wayne and Garth make up, look closely at the straws Garth has stabbed into his donut figurines - one of them changes from red to blue between shots (the director acknowledges this in the DVD commentary.)

  • Continuity: During "Bohemian Rhapsody" there are two visible dents in the passenger side of the Mirthmobile. Later, there are no dents in the door.

  • Crew or equipment visible: In the first Stan Mikita's Donuts sequence, when Garth points at the window, the Steadicam operator is reflected in the window.

  • Errors in geography: When Wayne and Garth are sitting on their car watching planes pass overhead, there are mountains and a desert in the background. There are no mountains near Aurora.

  • Crew or equipment visible: In the last scene set in Wayne's basement, a portion the blue screen behind the set is visible.

  • Revealing mistakes: In the ending of the movie when Stacy tells Wayne she is pregnant, she is shown running past him twice.

  • Continuity: In Mike Makita's, Garth's dream woman is putting pie into the display. Between cuts, there is a piece inside and on top of the display which disappear and reappear.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Noah Vanderhoff is talking to Benjamin Kane, explaining the commercials for his chain of stores, Noah's Arcade. He says, "I do my own commercials. Course, I don't mention the games in the commercials, 'cause the technology moves so much faster than the advertising." Yet in the beginning of the movie, they show Benjamin watching a Noah's Arcade commercial, where Vanderhoff is seen specifically listing the video games in his arcades, games like "Zandar, Beauwolf, Ninja Commando, SnakeAZon, Psycho Chopper..."

  • Continuity: Cassandra plays right-handed bass when shown playing with Crucial Taunt, yet she has a left-handed bass in her room.

  • Continuity: When Cassandra comes off stage after Crucial Taunts set at Gasworks. Two guys have a fight and spill beer over her, she get mad and does a kung-fu style kick at one of them. Her right suspender belt becomes undone, yet when she sighs and walks over to the bar, its still done up.

  • Factual errors: When the Noah's Arcade commercial plays at the beginning of the movie, one of the games that can be seen in the background behind Noah is Sonic the Hedgehog. This is NOT an arcade game (it's a game for the Sega Genesis console).

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Mr. Big watches Wayne's World on his in-car TV, the audio for the program is heard slightly before he changes the channel.

  • Continuity: Wayne starts playing the Stratocaster in the music store and the clerk points to a sign that says "NO STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN." But he's clearly playing a different song entirely (original theatrical cuts actually used Stairway, but this was changed for home video releases for legal reasons, and as a result the joke no longer makes sense.)

  • Continuity: During the "Laverne and Shirley" part, Garth places his glove on a 12 oz. bottle. When the glove is shown waving, it is a 40 oz. bottle.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): At the start of the "gratuitous sex scene", Wayne is alternating opening and closing his eyes, saying "Camera 1" and "Camera 2". When he starts, "Camera 1" is closer to Cassandra's left than "Camera 2", meaning that Camera 1 is Wayne's right eye, and Camera 2 is his left eye. At the end of that part of the scene, however, he says "Camera 2" last, but his right eye is open, which should be Camera 1 if he had been consistent.

  • Continuity: When Wayne and Garth go to the Gasworks, Garth is picked up and thrown by the big guy. He then goes and puts on his electric zapper belt, which is put on over his shirt. When he is back inside the Gasworks, the belt is under his shirt, which he then moves to reveal it.

  • Continuity: When Wayne gets pulled over by the cop, the cop is seen (in the mirror) removing his glasses and helmet. When he shows Wayne the picture, the glasses disappear from his left hand. But in the far-away shot when Wayne is zooming away, the glasses are back in his left hand and the picture disappeared.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Crucial Taunt are playing in Cassandra's apartment as Wayne and Garth head to Milwaukee, there is no echo on the audio. However, when the band stop playing, there is a very clear echo when Cassandra and Benjamin talk and even on the rustling of the papers in her hands so there would certainly be a noticeable echo when the band played.

  • Continuity: When Garth's dog comes into his bedroom to tell him Wayne is waiting outside, she walks towards the bed and stops with her foot on an item of black clothing. In the next shot, you are looking at her from the front and there is clear floor in front of her.

  • Continuity: In the Laverne & Shirley scene, Garth puts his right glove on the beer bottle, but in the next shot, it's a left glove.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Before the taping of the first episode of Wayne's World in the studio, the announcer asks Garth how to pronounce his last name, yet he never actually mentions Garth's last name when announcing the hosts of the show.

  • Continuity: After Garth shocks the guy in the gasworks he juggles his weapon to impress some babes. Just before that cut there is a babe in pink to Garth's left. During the cut there is a babe in black to Garth's left, occupying the same spot. After the cut, the babe in pink is back.

  • Continuity: The position of the film that spills out of the camera Wayne opens at Cassandra's music video shoot changes its position in front of his car.

  • Continuity: After Garth gets knocked down by the man in gasworks, he goes and puts on the belt with the shocking device. When he first puts it on outside, the belt is on the outside of his plaid shirt, but when he gets inside, it's on the inside of his plaid shirt.

  • Continuity: Frankie Sharp's Vanity plate "MR BIGGG" has no Statue of Liberty on it when it is shown in Milwaukee, but yet when we see it in Chicago during the Mission Impossible theme montage it has the Statue of Liberty to the right on the plate.
