An excellent reproduction making for an excellent performance, 20 February 2000

Author: (asweet) from Toronto, Ontario

This was an amazing movie, although I didn't manage to see the title until afterwards. This is the first movie I've seen starring Amy Stewart and from what I've seen she is a VERY good actress. Everything was set up to look like 1960 in Toronto and it was portrayed very well. In this movie a Catholic girl moves in with her grandmother after her parents divorce. She is an excellent student and meets her best friend, who lives next door. But as the movie goes on, she sees her best friend, her teacher, and even her mother committing sins. She has to learn to forgive in this struggle between authority and rebellion, until she comes to the realization that both are acceptable in smaller doses. She writes a speech to read at the graduation, stating that people have to learn to forgive and what's the point of going to heaven if you can't be with the people you love and care about? This was an excellent movie and you do not have to be Catholic to enjoy this.
