Edward Furlong Joins Cast Of Night Of The Demons!

3 October 2008 11:37 AM, PDT | From iconsoffright.com | See recent Icons of Fright news

Shock Till You Drop got word from Seven Arts Pictures that Edward Furlong (Terminator 2: Judgment Day) has joined the cast of Night Of The Demons, which begins principle photography today in New Orleans, Louisiana. Furlong joins Shannon Elizabeth (THIR13EN Ghosts, Cursed, Scary Movie), Monica Keena (Freddy Vs Jason), Diora Baird (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning), Bobbi Sue Luther (Killer Pad, Laid To Rest), Tiffany Shepis (Nightmare Man), Jonathan Beach and Michael Copon. Ironically enough, Furlong & Shepis also both recently appeared together in Dark Reel.

The redux is being directed by Adam Gierasch from a script he co-wrote with Jace Anderson and is based on the original 1988 cult classic with Linnea Quigley. Original Night Of The Demons director Kevin Tenney and Greg McKay (Braindead) are on board to produce. More when we hear it!

Discuss: Should Musicians Become Movie Stars?

16 September 2008 6:02 PM, PDT | From Cinematical.com | See recent Cinematical news

We're only a few days in, and there's already been a lot of music-themed film news this week -- from word of an Ozzy documentary to Roger Daltry's disappointment with possible scripts for that Keith Moon flick. But those are nothing compared to the little nugget over at MTV. Even without "I'm Going Slightly Mad" on the media player, this tidbit sounds so utterly nuts that it must be discussed.

It seems that way back when, stunt coordinator Joel Kramer went to James Cameron's office to look at storyboards for Terminator 2, and "I was like, 'Jim, these storyboards look just like Billy Idol!' And he was like, 'Yeah, he was my first pick.' But Billy had gotten into a motorcycle accident and broke his leg, so it didn't work out, because he would have to be in lean running shape." Those are storyboards for the T-1000. Yes folks,

Top Ten Movie Sequels

25 August 2008 2:30 PM, PDT | From Rope Of Silicon | See recent Rope Of Silicon news

Top Ten Movie Sequels With The Dark Knight now firmly set as the second largest grossing film of all-time with I felt there was no time better than right now to take a look at the all-time greatest sequels in film history. Not an easy task and many factors must be considering when devising such a list. First off, I didn't consider any of the James Bond films or the Man with No Name films (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, For a Few Dollars More, A Fistful of Dollars) as sequels. To me pulling out one James Bond film is pretty much impossible. I have my personal favorite (The Living Daylights) and perhaps I will do a list of James Bond films when Quantum of Solace releases, but for now this list is without a Bond film. I also didn't add any of the films from The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

'Terminator Salvation' Title Holds Plot Secret

20 August 2008 7:30 PM, PDT | From Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news

While many are still trying to gather more bits about the storyline of the latest "Terminator" installment, "Terminator Salvation", from any where they can, one particular place possibly missed out is from the title itself. Talking about the forthcoming action movie, director McG hinted that the title of the movie means more than a mere designation.

To MTV News, the 40-year-old filmmaker suggested that the "Salvation" in "Terminator Salvation" withholds a broad message of the second chance human gets after the apocalypse. "Even though we may sin, ultimately we deserve a second chance," explained McG. It is then explained that the using of the title to decipher the plot is similar to "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" when the "Judgment Day" became the shorthand of the apocalypse.

Teasing further, the director known for his works in television series, including "The O.C.", "Supernatural" and "Chuck" shared that the title refers to the actions of a specific character.

Linda Hamilton Is Not In Terminator 4

7 August 2008 11:54 AM, PDT | From ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news

Linda Hamilton… What a woman.

Not only did she have the courage to marry James Cameron, she also had the cojones to turn down Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.

Of course no doubt part of the reason she had the cojones to turn down Terminator 3 was because she’s financially set for the rest of her life - having had the courage to divorce Cameron.

Yeah, who hasn’t divorced James Cameron? The guy has been married a billion times. Did I just hear my Avatar premiere tickets getting shredded?

Anyway, I’m getting off topic here - yesterday word spread through the internet like wildfire that Hamilton would be reprising her signature role. Sorry Silent Night fans, it’s not Elisabeth Vincken in Silent Night 2. We’re talking Sarah Connor in Terminator Salvation.

There’s just one problem.

It isn’t true.

Review: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Season One

6 August 2008 10:35 AM, PDT | From ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news

Over the the last twenty-five years The Terminator franchise has set the standard for science fiction films - smart, action packed and filled with ground breaking special effects. The (first two) films are iconic and idolized by millions around the world. So when it was announced that the franchise would have a television spin-off many fans were unhappy, (myself included,) as it would not star Arnold Schwarzenegger (for obvious political reasons.) We feared that a TV series, sans Schwarzenegger, would cheapen the previous entries that had gone before it.

However, there is no need to fear Ye Terminator faithful: although the series does not equal the greatness of T1 and T2, it does expand on the characters, adding new twists, as well as some key references to the films.

All in all it’s enough to satisfy fans old and new alike.

The first season of The Sarah Connor Chronicles

List: Subbing In - Strange Moments in Replacement Actor History

15 July 2008 4:56 PM, PDT | From ifc.com | See recent IFC news

By Matt Singer

When adventurous treasure hunters Rick and Evelyn O'Connell return for their third film, this summer's "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor," one of them will look a bit different than they had previously. That's because Evelyn was once played by Rachel Weisz, who passed on this sequel and was replaced by Maria Bello. Likewise, the relationship between Bruce Wayne and Rachel Dawes from "Batman Begins" continues in this summer's "The Dark Knight," without Katie Holmes; Maggie Gyllenhaal fills in there.

It's a busy year for actors replacing other actors in sequels . we've already had a new Hulk (Edward Norton) and this fall, we'll have a new Punisher to match (Ray Stevenson) . so it's a good time to look back at some of the most notable substitutes. Sometimes new actors in old roles can make a huge impact; Antonio Banderas broke through with American audiences with "Desperado,
