Always interesting......sometimes confusing...., 13 December 2008
6/10
Author: merklekranz from United States

Tim Matheson is really a fine actor, way beyond "National Lampoon" standards. Here he has to make an unbelievable story believable. The strong points are interesting script, good visuals, and above average acting . The film is weakened by too many flashbacks. I believe the momentum is needlessly broken by the constant shifts in time. The original opening pretty much sets the stage, and there seems little reason to re-visit it countless times. A fair amount is left unexplained anyway, so why add to any confusion with redundant flashbacks? The only Steven King movie I have seen that I consider better than "Sometimes They Come Back" would be "The Dead Zone" - MERK
