| Peter W. Simeon <simeon@imdb.com> (19 March 1999) The picture quality of this laserdisc is very disapointing. It was made from a poor quality master, probably one made for the VHS widescreen version. The picture is very soft, the resolution is barely better than a VHS tape. In addition some noise, over processed edges and poor shadow detail further degrade the picture. It could be a conversion from NTSC, but it has no motion artifacts, which means they could have extracted the frames correctly using an inverse 3:2 pulldown process. The only good thing about this transfer is the Dolby Surround sound which contains some good surround effects, but otherwise is not reference quality either. |
