  • Continuity: Orientation of the cordless phone after Julie puts it down.

  • Continuity: Much of the helicopter chase scene is flipped horizontally.

  • Continuity: When Julie is handcuffed and falls off the building, she gets caught on the re-bar in a way that would be impossible for how she fell.

  • Continuity: While holding on to the helicopter, Darkman grabs the hook and rope and lets it dangle. The rope then disappears and reappears between cuts.

  • Crew or equipment visible: When Darkman is hanging under the helicopter and is flying just above the street, the camera pans left and you can see the shadow of the crane on which he is hanging.

  • Continuity: When Darkman is attaching the hook to the bar on top of the truck he is standing next to it. In the next shot he is approaching the bar again.

  • Continuity: During the helicopter/freeway sequence, the same clown-faced ice cream truck gets blown up twice.

  • Continuity: While Darkman is dangling from the helicopter, the "clown" truck is briefly seen again after having just been blown up.

  • Continuity: When Peyton is smashing things with a pipe in the warehouse (while screaming "I'll give you a show!"), he calms down after seeing his reflection in water. He drops the pipe (we even hear it land), yet when we see his reflection again, he is still holding it.

  • Continuity: When Julie follows Peyton back to the warehouse, she sees his "Peyton" mask sitting on a desk. In a close-up of the mask, it starts to melt while still on the desk. Yet in the next shot, Julie is seen holding the mask in her hands.

  • Factual errors: Throughout the movie, Darkman is able to talk as normal despite is lack of lips. You cannot pronounce 'b', 'f', 'm', 'p', 'v' without lips.

  • Continuity: When Julie follows Darkman back to the warehouse, his skin has melted, but when he is crying behind the cabinets, his fake hands are still there.

  • Crew or equipment visible: When Darkman runs up the stairs over the bridge on the roof you see a few crew-members on the roof.

  • Continuity: After the Chinatown meeting, Durant backhands Guzman twice, from different angles.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): During the scene in the lab when Peyton and his assistant discover that the synthetic skin is photosensitive, they alternate using the microscope though neither of them re-focuses the lenses. No two people have exactly the same eyesight and given the magnification used, they would almost certainly have to adjust the lenses for their own eyes after they use it. Yakitito also keeps his glasses on while looking at the microscope but this could be down to his excitement at the discovery.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): There is absolutely no scientific evidence to support the doctor's assertions that someone devoid of pain sensations would go insane as a result - people suffering from leprosy commonly lose the ability to feel pain or other touch sensations as their nerves deteriorate but this does not in itself cause any psychological damage.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Peyton breaks the finger of the fairground worker, the close-up clearly shows it to be made of rubber.

  • Crew or equipment visible: During the warehouse fight at the beginning, a ramp used to flip one of the cars is clearly visible before the camera pans left as it goes over.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Durant is cutting off the fingers of Eddie Black with the cigar trimmer there is no blood on either the trimmer, Black's or Durant's hands. Clearly there would be huge amounts of blood from the removal of fingers.

  • Factual errors: Westlake is viewing the synthetic skin cells with a light microscope, so when the power goes out in the lab the cells would no longer have been visible. Even if the laboratory lights were off to begin with, the cells would have failed to remain stable due to the fact that the microscope operates by the refraction of light through the sample.

>>> WARNING: Here Be Spoilers <<<

Goofs below here contain information that may give away important plot points. You may not want to read any further if you've not already seen this title.

  • Plot holes: SPOILER: Peyton's funeral is held the very next day after his apparent death despite there being no body to bury or even any confirmation of him actually dying. Regardless of the fact that it would take longer than 24 hours to arrange a church funeral, there would also need to be some evidence that he was actually dead before he could be legally declared as deceased and have a funeral carried out.

  • Crew or equipment visible: SPOILER: Camera reflected in helicopter window several times during chase.
