Before I launch into the conclusion of my 50 Influential Scream Queens (read part 1 here), please let me remind you that this list is based upon my personal taste, and my personal taste alone. I didn't poll 100 Fango readers, the Fango staff or any other form of 'industry professionals'. It's all opinion, so if you feel I've wronged a certain actress by excluding them from the list, don't leap to brand the entire Fango crew 'vile'. I probably just don't personally find their work to be that influential. Either that or I'm just ignorant to their accomplishments!
25. Mia Farrow: Mia's genre work may be a bit limited, but that doesn't change the fact that Rosemary's Baby will forever be regarded as one of the creepiest films in history. Farrow's portrayal of Rosemary Woodhouse is harrowing to say the least, and will always remain (in my mind) one of the best performances the genre has seen. »

Danielle Harris, star of four films in the Halloween franchise, as well as pictures like The Last Boyscout, City Slickers, Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead, and the television series Roseanne was kind enough to sit down with me at the 2009 Spooky Empire convention in Orlando, Florida to talk about her career. The interview was filmed live, but due to surrounding noise I have transcribed the conversation below.
Ja/Fangoria: First of all, can I say how nervous I am that we are making a film with John Landis sitting right over there?
Danielle Harris: (laughs)
Ja: We're here at the Spooky Empire convention in Orlando, Florida, and how has it been going for you so far?
Dh: It's been good! It's been really busy.
Ja: Have you met any creeps so far?
Dh: Not really at this show, only a handful. (laughs)
Ja: You actually lived here in Florida, »

Scream queen Danielle Harris (Halloween 4, Halloween 5, Urban Legend) will join the cast of the upcoming 3D/CGI film Night of the Living Dead: Origins.
Last week we reported that Night of the Living Dead: Origins is remake of the George A. Romero original. It will retell the original tale by providing some background on some of the characters. The film will also be stylized with “ American-style anime” which will allow filmmakers to direct CG performances the same way they would direct real live actors.
George A. Romero is not involved in the project. He’s busy with his own zombie feature Survival of the Dead, which debuted at this year’s Toronto Film Festival.

Bloody Disgusting got their hands on the first ever still from Jim Mickle's Stake Land, which began shooting last week in Pennsylvania under the eye of producer Larry Larry Fessenden. Starring Danielle Harris (Halloween 4, Halloween 5, Halloween, Halloween II), among many others, Stake Land is a post-apocalyptic vampire story in the style of The Grapes of Wrath. Mickle directed the popular indie film Mulberry Street. The film was also produced by Dark Sky Films. Larry Fessenden, who is getting behind the camera for a remake of The Orphanage, has produced Ti West's Cabin Fever 2, The House of the Devil and even The Roost. »

If there is one roving menace that still haunts the world in which we live, it is the threat of possible attack from Michael Myers. There came a time when we at least knew what and when to expect such an event, bracing ourselves each All Hallow's Eve for what seemed like an indestructible killing machine. Oftentimes we'd watch helpless as our babysitter, our teenaged sons, our fornicating friends were all shuffled off this mortal coil by the Shatner-faced villain and yet sometimes we felt the bravery to fight back. Now, we can't even be sure when he'll attack since he's sneaking up on us at the end of August instead of waiting until the end of October. He's getting sneakier, and that means we have to become even smarter. So, if you want to avoid being stabbed to death, electrocuted violently or thrown out of a window, take heed and follow these 9 Ways to Survive a »

Few films garner a strong enough impact to merit a “classic” label. Even fewer obtain followings large enough to warrant the making of nine sequels. John Carpenter is one of the very few in this business who can lay claim to both accomplishments. Though Halloween began as a small independent feature, it’s now grown into an undeniably successful franchise, and with the release of Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2 reboot just around the corner, it doesn’t appear Halloween’s momentum is anywhere near slowing.
The Beginning (1978)
In 1978 John Carpenter and Debra Hill poured the artistic cement that would act as a foundation for what would ultimately become labeled horrors slasher sub-genre (there were a few excellent slasher films preceding Carpenter‘s work, but all failed to grab the attention that Halloween captured), a now pivotal piece of the cinematic related horror puzzle. Halloween, was a low budget (the entire »

Stefan Hutchinson is a Michael Myers nut, or as he likes to call it, “The Shape behind the Shape”. He burst onto the horror scene back in 2006, directing and co-writing the intricate documentary Halloween: 25 Years Of Terror, featuring behind the scenes interviews with cast and crew from the 2003 Halloween anniversary convention. In 2008, Halloween Comics was presented to the world of comic books with the help of Devils Due Publishing, and Stefan Hutchinson tackled the writing duties for its initial release, Halloween: Nightdance, which was a Fangoria Top 10 book for 2008. He is the prominent writer for Halloween Comics, continuing on with 30 Years Of Terror, Autopsis and The First Death Of Laurie Strode, along with the upcoming The Mark Of Thorn series featuring that mysterious “Man in Black” from Halloween 6. Fangoria caught up Stefan during a major writing session to ask some questions on the successful launch of Halloween Comics, »

The deeper I delve into writing, the more movies and literature I digest. My biggest obstacle at this point is not finding the material, it’s finding the time to watch it, and the money to purchase it all. After consistently emptying my bank account on countless DVD’s and books over the last few months, I really started to ask myself one question: How the hell can I pick all this stuff up quickly and affordably? Well, an obvious solution occurred to me - why not seek out box sets?
While Ebay is my one stop shop for books (I recommend it to all), DVD’s are not always as easy to track down, so I decided to highlight 15 cool box sets which will enable you to beef up your collection without breaking your pocket book.
