  • Revealing mistakes: Obvious manipulation of the film speed during many of the fight sequences.

  • Incorrectly regarded as goofs: During a fight scene at MacCready's house, Nick loses his sword, which ends up at the bottom of a pool. In the next shot, Sho Kosugi's sword is visible on the deck; some confused it with Nick's.

  • Continuity: During the fight at Lynn Devereaux's house, the houseplant atop the china cabinet changes from one kind to another several times between shots/

  • Continuity: Nick's hair at the end of the "blind driving" segment.

  • Continuity: When Nick slices the apple tossed by the Assasin, it is shown to fall with one half leaning on the other. However, in the very next shot, the pieces are at least 2 feet apart.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Nick cuts off the policeman's hand near the beginning of the film, we see the hand fall to the floor, then the cop falls back, and for a moment you can see he still has his hand.

  • Continuity: When Billy takes the picture from Nick's wallet, he's holding it on the side. In the close-up, he's holding it by the bottom.

  • Revealing mistakes: When the policeman gets his hand sliced off and it falls to the floor, you can see a white wire going from the back of the hand into the floor. This wire is what creates the shot from the gun that the hand is holding.

  • Errors in geography: In the Scene where Nick is walking along the road in Miami, there's a sign for State Road 84 right along the same road. State Road 84 is nowhere near Miami. At its nearest, it is about 30 miles away Miami. State Road 84 is now part of Interstates 75 and 595 (except through the city of Ft. Lauderdale). Also at the time this movie was filmed (1988-1989), State Road 84 was a 4-laned divided highway, not a 2-lane rural road as it was depicted in the film.

  • Continuity: During the van chase where Nick is driving the van, at one point you can see through the rear view mirror (before it gets shot off) that they just passed the "Reno: The Biggest Little City In The World" sign, but just a moment later (when Nick runs through the red light) you see the big sign coming up ahead.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Nick Parker wears a wrist-watch for most of the film. How exactly is a wrist-watch of any use to a blind person?

  • Revealing mistakes: When Frank answers the phone at Colleen's home and talks to MacCready, you can see that the phone cord is not connected to the phone.

  • Plot holes: The photo of Nick and Frank together was taken right before the mortar attack started, after which the two didn't see each other again. How did they both end up with a copy of it?

  • Revealing mistakes: A flipped shot during the scene when Cobb is dialing the password to the penthouse elevator and Nick is carefully listening at the numbers nearby. Look carefully, and you notice Nick is standing next to a slot machine that has the number "100" and the word "BAR" backwards.

  • Factual errors: During the van chase when Nick is driving, Billy accidentally tells Nick to turn right onto supposedly a one-way street, however as they drive down the street, you can see traffic lights on both directions. One-way streets would never have traffic lights facing both directions, and this particular street was obviously a two-way street re-painted to look like a one-way.

>>> WARNING: Here Be Spoilers <<<

Goofs below here contain information that may give away important plot points. You may not want to read any further if you've not already seen this title.

  • Continuity: SPOILER: At the end of the movie Randall Tex Cobb gets stabbed in the stomach by Nick's sword. He pulls it out and drops it on the floor. In the next shot when we see him crawling along the floor the sword is gone. Then it's back again when the boy runs over and picks it up.

  • Plot holes: SPOILER: While Nick and Slag are fighting each other, we see Frank and MacCready fighting for the shotgun on the floor, but after Nick cuts Slag in half and he falls off the cliff, it immediately changes to the scene where everyone is in line to board the bus. How were they able to subdue MacCready and what happened to him?
