I saw this movie years on video (lousy quality), well last night I bought the Anchor Bay DVD Box Set, the picture quality is amazing, and the whole movie is so much more fun!Pamela Springsteen delivers one of the greatest horror movie performances of all time, as a relentlessly chipper Camp Counselor, at Camp Rolling Hills. Needless to say the Camp is filled with the usual joking japesters and jocks and worst of all - MULLETS! Most of the girls are complete bitches (except for Rene Estevez) who drink, smoke dope and screw around, even to the extent of fornicating. This does not make for good campers. Unluckily for them Pam Springsteen (Angela Baker) is on hand to teach them the values of camping.The splatter effect is excellent in this movie, the deaths are very imaginative, and as for Angela's cabin deep in the woods...don't go inside. The scenes dealing with the cabin were well done, and very macabre, for some odd reason it reminded me of Rob Zombie's "House of 1000 Corpses".I also really liked the sequence with the 2 teens donned up as Freddy and Jason - no sweat for Angela!Pamela Springsteen is great in this role and should have own figure made, all the other horror icon do, but I guess this is a little obscure.Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers: 3/5PS: love the ending - "Howdy pard'ner!"
