Riggs is using the Heckler & Koch PSG-1. This was the first appearance of that legendary weapon in an action film. Many other films contain rifles that are thought to be PSG-1s but are actually fake mock-ups using other less expensive Heckler & Koch weapons (Such as Billy Zane's rifle in "Sniper"). The PSG-1 is one of the most expensive of all tactical rifles (well over $10,000) and due to this fact, it is quite rare for the genuine article to be seen in movies, but the rifle in Lethal Weapon is, in fact, the real deal.
