This time, brutal vigilante Paul Kersey (Charles Bronson) is romancing a newswoman (Kay Lenz) with a teenage daughter (Dana Barron) who fatally overdoses on crack cocaine. This makes him so mad that he doesn't take long to accept a proposal from a stranger (John P. Ryan) to wage war on two rival drug empires.Everything about "Death Wish 4: The Crackdown" is routine - very routine - an unimaginative action movie with just enough explosions and bloody gunshot deaths to please undiscriminating fans of this kind of thing. Bronson pretty much "phones it in", and his supporting cast is kind of wasted in unimaginative roles. John P. Ryan, as usual, is quite good although the "big" revelation about his character did not come as a surprise to *me*.The only thing worth noting is the opening scene where it turns out things aren't quite as they seem; it has an interesting payoff.Be on the lookout for future film and TV tough guys Danny Trejo and Mitch Pileggi; Tim Russ of 'Star Trek: Voyageur' also has a small role. This is also one of those movies that has the very strong anti-drug agenda to sort of rationalize everything that happens.5/10
