Stephen King’s Cell Moving to the Small Screen?

A few years ago, Eli Roth was lined up to direct a film adaptation of Stephen King's Cell, the horror novel where a cell phone signal turns people into mindless killers. Unfortunately, the project got delayed for a while (possibly due to the release of the similarly-themed indie film The Signal) and Roth eventually left the project due to creative differences. Now this week we have news that The Weinsteins have decided to shop the book around to TV networks instead. According to Fangoria [1], writer-director John Harrison is currently in the midst of adapting the book into a 4-hour mini-series. He may or may not direct the project himself, but seems very excited about it either way. Harrison previously wrote and directed the Dune mini-series and more recently did Clive Barker's Book of Blood, but back in 1990 he directed Tales from the Darkside: The Movie, which is considered »

Drag Me To Hell actors Justin Long and Lorna Raver (Fango #283’s cover girl!) have joined the lineup of the upcoming West Coast edition of Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors convention, to be held April 17-19 at the Los Angeles Convention Center (1201 South Figueroa). Long (of the Jeepers Creepers films and Live Free Or Die Hard) and Raver (a TV actress who has logged time on Star Trek: Voyager, Charmed and Weeds) will join director Sam Raimi on Friday at the show.

Prong mainman Tommy Victor, who was recently interviewed by Fangoria (read it here) will be appearing at Fangoria's Weekend Of Horrors in Los Angeles, April 17-19, 2009. Victor, who recently toured with both Ministry and Danzig, will see the release of Prong's Power Of The Damn Mixxxer (read our review) on May 12th, 2009 via 13th Planet Records.
Tommy will be appearing at the Schecter Guitar Research booth for signing sessions throughout the weekend, along with Skumlove, who's new album The Church Of The New Perversion was recently recorded and co-written with Victor.
Music from Skumlove's past album Songs Of Lust And Corrosion were featured on the Award winning Horror-Porn DVD "Grub Girl" and the B-style horror movie Intermedio starring Edward Furlong (Terminator 2) and Amber Benson (Buffy: The Vampire Slayer).

House Of Wax remake director Jaume Collet-Serra (pictured below) has joined the line-up of the upcoming West Coast edition of Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors convention, to be held April 17-19 at the Los Angeles Convention Center (1201 South Figueroa). Attending Sunday, the Barcelona-born Collet-Serra will be previewing his new chiller Orphan at the show. The Warner Bros./Dark Castle picture, about an evil child, opens July 24.

A panel devoted to the Night Of The Demons remake will take place at the next West Coast edition of Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors convention, to be held April 17-19 at the Los Angeles Convention Center (1201 South Figueroa). Appearing at the preview (slotted for Saturday) will be the film’s new Angela, Shannon Elizabeth (pictured) of Scary Movie, Cursed, 13 Ghosts and the first two American Pie movies.
Joining Elizabeth will be her Demons co-stars: Freddy Vs. Jason’s Monica Keena, Tiffany Shepis and Laid To Rest’s Bobbi Sue Luther, as well as director/co-writer Adam Gierasch of Autopsy and his Mother Of Tears/Toolbox Murders co-scripter Jace Anderson. “We will have never-before-seen clips, and we also may bring another surprise actor or two,” says Anderson.

A panel devoted to the new spooky flick Dark House, starring Jeffrey Combs, will take place at the next West Coast edition of Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors convention, to be held April 17-19 at the Los Angeles Convention Center (1201 South Figueroa). Legendary femme fatale Sybil Danning has joined the lineup of the next West Coast edition of Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors convention, to be held April 17-19 at the Los Angeles Convention Center (1201 South Figueroa). Danning’s long career in exploitation has included roles in Howling II, Amazon Women On The Moon, The Tomb, Reform School Girls, Chained Heat, Luigi Cozzi’s Hercules and Rob Zombie’s Halloween and Werewolves Of The SS trailer from Grindhouse.
