Smack!!!!
“Aagghh!!!”
The former was what The Vampire Diaries did to me last night and the latter is my bitch made response. The domestic abuse that The Vampire Diaries administered to me last night was epic and my mind is still reeling from each blow that came at my face. There were no tears. Only gasps of shock after each uppercut landed.
Let me recount the events from the night before while I can recollect them at the moment.
Last night’s story took place during two time periods and picked up from where it left off the week before.
Crash Into Me… (Mystic Falls, Virginia 1864)
The scenery made me think about Dave Matthews Band’s “Crash Into Me” video, which is one of my favorite videos of all time. Anyway…

Well, it seems that the 25th Anniversary Edition of the original Children of the Corn soundtrack was a very fast sellout, but not the fastest in Varese history. We just received news from Varese that Children of the Corn (1984) sold out within 16 hours, similar to Jonathan Elias' score for Vamp and Jay Chattaway's Silver Bullet. They think the cd that holds the fastest title is probably Georges Delerue's True Confessions. We have been recently notified that Ebay does have a few copies listed so if you were not able to order a copy in time, be sure to check them out! »

Fighting, an action drama starring Channing Tatum and Terrence Howard, gets an original score by newcomer David Wittman and veteran Jonathan Elias. Wittman is one of the composers and associate creative director at EliasArts, which is Jonathan Elias' music production company. Elias has scored numerous big features, including last year's Pathfinder and horror classics Vamp and Children of the Corn. Fighting, which is directed by Dito Montiel, takes place in New York's underground street fighting circles. The film is scheduled to premiere on April 24. »

Our second stab at the Oscars contains make-up effects and score (read part 1 here). The make-up effects, followed by the visual effects and technical awards, remain my favorite parts of the show; here you got to see your heroes: Rick Baker, Howard Berger, Chris Walas or Rob Bottin in the audience. Even the great Stan Winston could have been out there, back in the day. Though best known for his “visual effects” wins—he brought home an Oscar for best make-up in 1991 for Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
Here genre fans can rejoice, Greg Cannom brought home the gold, again, for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Cannom, a genre elder, worked alongside (just to name a few) Fincher, Coppola, Landis, Dante, Blatty, and Cohen creating all sorts of character and creature make-ups.
