Cast Photos – Damages Season 3

23 December 2009 9:31 AM, PST | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Season 3 of Damages will be premiering on January 25, 2010 and several new cast members will be joining the cast (see when your other favorite shows will be returning in 2010).  FX has released several photos in anticipation of the season 3 premiere.  Damages is a great, dramatic show with solid performances, even if the quality did dip a bit in season 2.  If you don't watch it, you still have time to catch up on seasons 1 and 2, before season 3 premieres.

Check out the cast photos below.  It's all very dark and mysterious.

Campbell Scott and Martin Short Sign On as Series Regulars and Lily Tomlin and Keith Carradine Take on Guest Starring Roles

FX’s award-winning legal thriller Damages is adding four superior actors to its cast with Campbell Scott and Martin Short signing on as series regulars, and Lily Tomlin and Keith Carradine joining as special guest stars for the upcoming season premiering in January. »

Dr. Who and Shaun of the Dead unite for 'Burke & Hare'

13 October 2009 4:30 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

I hate the way most older directors are treated by this business. John Landis is a good example.  Yes... there is a reason his career took a nosedive during the mid-to-late '80s, but no matter what your feelings about that incident, Landis is still the guy who made "An American Werewolf In London," "National Lampoon's Animal House," "The Blues Brothers," "Coming To America," and "Three Amigos!", and the idea that a guy like that has trouble getting funding for anything is just preposterous.  Sure, give some new guys work, but don't just throw older directors away because of some arbitrary calendar date.  It's short-sighted, and »

Josh Wolk's Pop Culture Club talks 'Vacation': Does it make you yearn for (or dread) Chevy Chase's return?

27 August 2009 7:30 AM, PDT | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

What with August coming to an end and the looming arrival of Labor Day—the symbolic slamming shut of summertime fun (here's one more barbecue, Now Get Off The Beach And Back To School, You Lazy Bastards!)—I thought that this week would be a good time for the Pop Culture Club to take one last symbolic vacation…with the Griswolds. (Though neither a Vegas nor European vacation, because as we all know, those are no fun at all.) But the 1983 comedy Vacation served as more than just a seasonal dose of nostalgia (and homage to its late writer, John Hughes). It also got me thinking about the legacy—and upcoming TV return—of Chevy Chase. Chevy is considered one of the most memorable film comedy stars of the ‘80s. But take a look at his filmography: He really only starred in three and a half funny movies: Vacation, Caddyshack, »

Landis and Pegg

24 August 2009 4:05 AM, PDT | JoBlo.com | See recent JoBlo news »

For whatever reason, John Landis has decided to take the last decade or so off from making movies. Maybe he thought that after directing such classics as Animal House, Coming To America, Three Amigos, Kentucky Fried Movie and The Blues Brothers, he deserved a bit of a break. And with that resume, I’d be inclined to agree. Well, he’s gotten his fill of rest and TV projects and is coming back to the big screen with Burke And Hare, and he's even started casting. Simon Pegg and John Landis Commit Murder!

23 August 2009 10:51 PM, PDT | FilmShaft.com | See recent FilmShaft.com news »

I can’t tell you how excited I am about this wonderful little piece of casting news. Simon Pegg, everyone’s favourite geek and all round genius for creating Spaced has supposedly been cast to star in Burke and Hare directed by none other than John Landis!

Oh My God!

John Landis who has been away from the silver screen for so long and has been directing episodes of television shows. John Landis who made Animal House, The Blues Brothers, Trading Places, Three Amigos, Coming To America and the seminal Thriller with Michael Jackson!

The reason I’m so excited about this project is not only because I am a huge fan of John Landis and Simon Pegg respectively but also for the fact that Burke & Hare has a delicious premise and is perfect for both these people.

Let me elaborate, William Burke and William Hare were two Irish immigrants »

We’re Live-Blogging The Top Three ‘American Idol’ Performances!

12 May 2009 4:52 PM, PDT | MTV Newsroom | See recent MTV Newsroom news »

Tonight’s “American Idol” live-blog is dedicated to Allison Iraheta, my personal Idol. In honor of the recent oustee, I expect all of you to refuse to give me any credit I might deserve in this live-blog. Your comments should be comprised of backhanded compliments, faint praise and “that ones” while you over-praise other bloggers who are lazy and aren’t deserving of their unstoppable success. Deal?

Check out Jim Cantiello’s video recap of the show below!

We now resume with our regularly scheduled live-blog.

And then there were two…with a third wheel.

Yes, in a season that’s felt as endless as “The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons”, the finale is approaching faster than Kara can say “Here’s the thing…”

The three remaining contestants had their hometown visits last week, which I imagine was a great morale booster. Although we all know one contestant doesn’t »

Gay Of The Dead 10: November Son’s Brinke Stevens and Sacha Sacket.

12 April 2009 10:10 PM, PDT | Fangoria | See recent Fangoria news »

For November Son (available on DVD April 14), the sequel to the gay thriller October Moon, writer/director Jason Paul Collum worked with both ends of the genre spectrum, the seasoned vet (Brinke Stevens) and the first-film newbie (Sacha Sacket).

Stevens, who reprises the role of “Nancy” in November Son, has over 100 acting credits. If you are a fan of the genre, you know Stevens even if you’ve never seen one of her films. By all accounts one of the nicest and most accommodating actresses to work with, Stevens weathered the “Girl in the Shower” storm of her early films and has come out the other side with nuanced performances in films like Mommy and October Moon. At an age when most B-movie queens fade into real estate careers, Stevens keeps racking up the roles, and she doesn’t have to take off her top to do it.

An Open Letter to Steve Martin

6 February 2009 10:36 AM, PST | GetTheBigPicture.net | See recent Get The Big Picture news »

Dear Mr. Martin:

I have been aware of your work for 30 years. Even as a kid, with "King Tut" on the radio and the arrow through the head gag, I knew you were different than other comedians of the time. Somehow, I genuinely connected with your style even though the arrow through the head was definitely not aimed at me. It is ironic that in 2009, a new generation of children can laugh at your work, since your comedy has become about the lowest common denominator in almost every case.

There was not another Steve Martin when The Jerk established you as a movie star, nor was there another Steve Martin in 1987 when Roxanne showed how graceful your comedy could be. There is not another Steve Martin now, the star of The Pink Panther 2 - a has-been who's perfectly content to embark on the film version of the faded rock »

Comedian Chevy Chase To Guest Star On NBC's "Chuck"

15 January 2009 12:57 PM, PST | icelebz.com | See recent iCelebz news »

"Chuck" fans are in for a treat this spring when Emmy Award-winning comedy legend Chevy Chase guest stars on the NBC comedy. Chase will guest-star as an iconic computer genius who may be more than he appears in a multi-episode arc on "Chuck."

Celebrity News Service loves Chase and was a fan of his since his days on "NBC's Saturday Night Live." On "Chuck," Chase will play Ted Roark who is the founder and great mind behind Roark Instruments. Chuck (Zachary Levi) has looked up to Roark since he was a kid, and working at Roark Instruments is his dream. But perhaps there's more to this company than just super cool computers, turtlenecks -- and uberpositive employees.

One of the most honored and beloved actors of his generation, Chase first came to national prominence as a writer and performer with the original cast of NBC's "Saturday Night Live," for which he won two Emmys. »
