It's a jack London "man against nature novel" meets FIRST BLOOD and a cop movie. QUIET COOL is the story of a New York cop who sets off to learn the fate of his family in the red woods of california. This revolves around a band of lawless drug dealers and a kid who has to survive in the woods using survival skills. This was one of the man low budget films NEW LINE did. THE HIDDEN came shortly after this one. This is a nice escape from reality movie and worth a view. Academy award material it is not.
