A masterpiece!, 8 December 1998
Author: Jared X from New York City

This is one great coming of age story, set against the backdrop of race and gender politics. Stunningly rich in detail and scathingly accurate in its depiction of Nantucket life. Kudos to Pam Susemiehl for her uncredited cameo as the guardian angel.
