Underrated Romantic Comedy (not with Paul Newman), 21 December 2001
8/10
Author: Adam G (fink2001@yahoo.com) from Costa Mesa, CA

This commercial and critical flop is one of my all time favorites. I suppose you have to be a bit of a hopeless romantic, and a bit off kilter to appreciate it. One of my favorite lines in cinema history comes from the character of Cassie's cousin: "I'd like some bend straws. I think I can use them." Arquette's orgasmic primal scream, in the acting class scene, almost always makes me cry. Eric Roberts is very good also, but his character is secondary. Evelyn Purcel and Beth Henley should be proud.

Keep in mind, this is not the Paul Newman movie of the same name.
