- Miscellaneous: According to the title cards, the film begins in mid December and ends in late January. However, there is no mention whatsoever of Christmas or New Year's Day, and none of the sets has decorations of any kind for either holiday.
- Continuity: At conclusion of chase a dark brown van with a multicolor horizontal stripe is part of the gridlock but as agents drive away the van is seen approaching on opposite lanes.
- Revealing mistakes: When Chance is shot with the shotgun in the locker room, the blood - supposedly from his wound - is thrown on him from off-screen.
- Crew or equipment visible: When the truck jackknifes during the chase, you can see a tow truck in the left of the frame pulling the back of the trailer.
- Audio/visual unsynchronized: In the final scene between Masters and Vukovich in the warehouse, after all the rounds have been fired, Vukovich keeps pulling the trigger. You also hear the sound of the pistol's hammer striking, but the cylinder of the revolver is not rotating.
- Crew or equipment visible: In the original 1985 theater release, there was a large shadow of the crew and equipment visible on the ground as John Vukovich approaches the warehouse with Chinese character.
- Plot holes: After breaking into Masters' secret country hideout by breaking the outer gate's padlock with a bolt cutter, Chance and his fellow cops encounter another padlock, this time on a warehouse door. But instead of using the bolt cutter this time, Chance fires his revolver at the lock. Although this breaks the lock, why did he risk the danger of a bullet ricochet instead of using the bolt cutter again?
- Revealing mistakes: Whenever frontal camera angles are used to film revolvers being pointed, it is clear that their cylinders are empty.
- Incorrectly regarded as goofs: During the scene when Rick Masters demands his money back from Jeff for the botched hit on Cody in jail, Jeff says "I owe you one Cody". Although some viewers think that the line should read "I owe you one, Rick," Jeff's reference to Cody is not a script error; Jeff is merely saying that he owes Rick "one Cody" - that is, one dead Cody.
- Revealing mistakes: When Chance goes the wrong direction on the freeway in the big car chase scene, he's actually driving on the correct side and the rest of traffic is driving on the left side of the road.
>>> WARNING: Here Be Spoilers <<<
Goofs below here contain information that may give away important plot points. You may not want to read any further if you've not already seen this title.
- Continuity: SPOILER: Masters drives the Ferrari from the gym to the warehouse where he prints. The Ferrari is shown inside the warehouse as Masters sets a fire in the warehouse to burn his printing equipment. Vukovitch kills Masters at the warehouse. But in the next scene at Master house, Bianca (Masters girlfriend) drives off with Serena in what appears to be the same black Ferrari 308. How did the Ferrari escape being destroyed at the warehouse fire?
- Continuity: SPOILER: When Vukovitch shoots Masters at the warehouse he fires six shots from a six shot revolver and keeps pulling the trigger when the gun is empty. But he had already fired two shots at the alley next to the gym when Master tried to run him down. Vukovitch did not have any bullets on his person (he was frisked by Jack). The briefcase with the gun and the handcuffs was left at the gym. So Vukovitch could not have reloaded the 6 shot revolver with two extra rounds.
