  • Crew or equipment visible: When Dorothy first meets Tick Tock, he tells her that he will be her humble servant, takes off his hat and bows before her. When he's bowing if you look closely you can see the "puppeteer" crouched behind him.

  • Continuity: Tik-Tok's thinking mechanism is activated by winding the key under his left arm, and his talking is activated by winding the one under his right arm. However, when he asks Dorothy to wind his thinking key before entering the ornament room, she winds the one under his right arm.

  • Revealing mistakes: The nurse unexpectedly takes away Dorothy's lunch pail. Yet before she even reaches for it, Dorothy raises it up, as if handing it to her.

  • Continuity: Dorothy's eyes and head-position on the pillow change several times between shots while they are testing the shock-therapy machine.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: After Mombi switches her head to the brunette (head #4) her lips are out of sync while telling Dorothy about the Scarecrow, clearly indicating that it's a voice over by Jean Marsh, the original nurse/Mombi.

  • Continuity: After strapping Dorothy onto the stretcher, the two "wheelers" change places between shots.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Ozma is unstrapping Dorothy, a close-up shows her saying "We've got to get you out of here." When the camera pans out, it shows her mouthing the exact same line.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Mombi wakes up and walks around headless, it is obvious by her stiff jerky movements, and the way she glides rather than walks, that is an animatronic puppet and not Jean Marsh.

  • Revealing mistakes: At one point Dorothy bumps into the "stone" Cowardly Lion and it wobbles back and forth.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Doctor Worley says that 1900 is the first year of the 20th century. 1900 is the last year of the 19th century. The first year of the 20th century is 1901.
