In the scene change right after Logan tells the zombie that it needs to sit in the dark and think about what it did, and punishes it by turning off the light, a little bit of the "The Gonk" music from Dawn of the Dead (1978) can be heard in the scene change. more
Continuity: When Sarah sits in front of the helicopter a lot of seagulls can be seen and their shadows pass over her. When camera closes in, the gulls are gone. more

McDermott:
Nothing, nothing at all.
Sarah:
Send again.
McDermott:
I've been sending up and down the coast from Sarasota to the Everglades and still getting back the same dead air. There's nothing! There's nobody or at least nobody with a radio.
Sarah:
All right then let's set down, we'll use the bullhorn.
McDermott:
Set down? Wait a minute, that's not in our contract!
Sarah:
It's the biggest city within 150 miles and we're going to give it every chance.
McDermott:
Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
Sarah:
Set down, John!
John:
I'll set us down. But I won't leave my seat and I'll keep the engine running. Now the first sign of trouble, I'm going up. If you ain't on board when that happens, you're likely to have a lousy afternoon.

The living have lost the war and now the dead have taken over.A small pocket of survivors consisting of a military and scientific team staying in a secure underground bunker doing research, trying to find an answer to why the dead are walking, and also trying to find any other survivors, but without much success. The sequence of events that follow ultimately lead to their self destruction.Plenty of gore including usual gun-shots to the head, decapitation, amputation, bodies ripped apart, entrails eaten, throat rippings etc.The special effects by Tom Savini are truly outstanding and these scenes where Dr Logan(Richard Liberty)tries to train a zombie are simply amazing. If you love gore you must see "Day of the Dead".Highly recommended.
